Now, about this work, it is a story based on the premise of a trading card game (TCG).
Specifically, the core rules are based on the famous trading card game that you are all familiar with. I am greatly indebted to it.
That said, for a novel based on a trading card game, it is extremely difficult to express the card game portions in prose.
After all, I have to convey the rules and card effects, which the readers don’t know, in an easy-to-understand manner.
For that reason, in this work, I have made that part quite simplified, and the scenes depicting actual gameplay make up a relatively small portion of the overall story.
Instead, the main theme of this work is the kinds of developments you might expect from a hobby anime involving card games, as well as what might happen if the world were truly on the verge of destruction by a card game.
In a sense, this work may be closer to a series of “card game tropes” rather than a purely fictional card game story.
I hope you will enjoy this work, which is somewhat closer to a slice-of-life story in that sense.
Additionally, while many readers have kindly said that this work was published at breakneck speed, I myself was quite surprised by how quickly the decision to publish it in book form was made.
