Announcement : Translation Requests Open !

Greetings, everyone! As the title suggests, I am currently accepting translation requests. If you have any Japanese Light Novels (LN) or Web Novels (WN) that you would like me to translate, please feel free to post them in the comments section below. Kindly include the Amazon JP or Bookwalker or Rakuten Kobo or NovelUpdates links for reference. If there is a decent manga adaptation available, manga scanlation links are also welcome.

To ensure a smooth translation process, I will be selecting requests based on the following criteria:

  1. The work is not licensed.
  2. The LN/WN’s writing style is not overly complex. Please note that I may struggle with translating intricate works such as those written by Nisioisin or similar works, as well as the likes of Infinite Dendogram.
  3. I must admit that I lack confidence in translating Shoujo and Josei works, as my writing may come across as awkward. Additionally, I would prefer if the LN/WN does not contain explicit sex scenes.
  4. It would be helpful if the characters have Western names written in Katakana. I tend to make mistakes when reading Kanji names, even with furigana assistance.
  5. The LN volume is of reasonable length.
  6. The request is popular.
  7. Last but not least, I prioritize works that I find enjoyable to translate.

    It’s a dark isekai story about a group of misfits – broken people that groups together as a part of an assassin guild of some sort. It’s full of dark comedy, gore, and… yanderes lol. Really unique, a subservient of the usual isekai stuffs.

  19. How about checking Kore wa Zombie desu ka out?

    An oldie but goldie, this one is a classic. Has two seasons of anime that are quite popular back in the day. It’s a mostly chill slice of life comedy, with supernatural elements cramped in. As far as cliche and setting go, it’s really different from the usual, the comedy keeps up nicely, and the supernatural elements are not just tacked in; they’re used quite well to complement the main characters’ hectic daily life.

    It IS quite lengthy though (19 volumes, averaging around… 250-300 pages per volume I think), and the manga is licensed (not the light novel though). See if it strikes your fancy, and if it doesn’t, at least you’ll have some laugh out of it lol

  49. I have three suggestions for you Mr. Panda. As you mentioned you like The Eminence in Shadow type of story, all three of my suggestions are something along those lines. I have actually finished reading them by feeding the text into Google Translate and using jisho and my own little understanding of Japanese to smooth out the rough translation, but it would be great for others to enjoy the series too since I frankly enjoyed them.

  58. I have a suggestion for you and I’ll say it here because it seems like there’s no other section for requests. Please replace the ko-fi links with the gadgetized panda links on the next page area. For example if I were on chapter 2 of D-kyuu then when I go to click next chapter it just sends me to the ko-fi. Instead you could either just replace it when it comes out OR you could make two. One for the ko-fi (like: Next Chapter (On Ko-Fi)) and one for the unreleased chapter (like: Next Chapter (When Released)) that holds the unreleased chapters link inside it (like: https://gadgetizedpanda.com/2024/01/27/im-a-d-rank-adventurer-volume-2-chapter-4-part-13/). You could also add information about this to your about me page, that’s at the top of the home page (like: The next chapter link is not immediately open however, you can use the next chapter ko-fi link to get ahead if you’d like.)

  86. On my knees here. Please, consider giving the Accel World light novel a go. The official translation is really awful, inconsistent, and in some cases ridiculously white washed. I’ve searched and prowled for alternatives, but all to no success. I don’t want this to be the end, for it to just be left aside in a rotten state forever, especially for something as interesting as this.
    (Assuming the stars and planets match, I hope you leave Kuroyukihime’s name as Kuroyukihime.)

    There’s already several ongoing series with a parallel scenario of official and fan translations, performed so in retrograde to the official ones ( they start from the ground up and catch up to them ) or they’ve plainly surpassed them, and will continue to remain like that until the series ends.

    1. I really am transfixed with this one god dammit. It’s the only remaining series from the late 2000s to not get a proper, consistent, no whitewashed translation.
      I’ve even purchased every copy of the book in CHINESE and JAPANESE.
      Panda, I really hope you make this series and only this series, an exception.
