Prologue
“Lord Byleth, are you nervous?”
“Ah, ahaha… To be honest, yeah. Since this is the first time we’ll meet at the academy after becoming lovers, I can’t help but feel self-conscious about it.”
Currently, Byleth was riding in a glass-windowed carriage on his way to school.
With a wry smile, he replied to Sia’s question.
“Perhaps the fact that you haven’t seen Lady Elena or Lady Luna since yesterday—with Sunday in between—is also affecting you?”
“You’re right.”
Last Saturday, at the dinner party hosted by the Leclerc family—Byleth had received confessions.
From [Carlet Flower Princess] Elena Leclerc of the Count’s family.
And [Book Devouring prodigy] Luna Perenmel of the Baron’s family.
From both of them. And he had honestly accepted their feelings.
Now, after a day apart, he would see them again today.
Moreover, this was the first time they would meet at the academy as lovers.
The more he thought about it, the more embarrassed he felt. There was also the uncertainty of how to interact with them—what distance to maintain.
“This might not be much comfort, but I believe the tension will only last at the beginning. Everything will surely turn out fine.”
“Thanks for always looking out for me. Really.”
“Ah, um… This really isn’t meant as consideration for you, though…”
“Huh?”
Sia shook her head and hands frantically.
It was a very Sia-like reaction—but her insistence that this “wasn’t consideration” was uncharacteristic.
“……”
“……”
Tilting his head, Byleth waited for her to continue—only for Sia to fall silent, her face gradually reddening as she blinked rapidly.
Suddenly, the atmosphere inside the carriage shifted.
Even for Byleth, this kind of mood was unexpected.
“Sia?”
Hoping to prompt her, Byleth urged her to speak—and finally, a response came.
“Well… Since you weren’t nervous when you saw me yesterday, I thought… um… maybe the reason you’re tense now is because you haven’t met Lady Elena and Lady Luna yet… Since my relationship with you is the same as theirs…”
“Ahaha, you’re right about that.”
“Yes…”

With a small, happy nod, Sia’s eyes narrowed in satisfaction.
That’s right—those two weren’t the only ones who had become Byleth’s lovers.
Seated beside him in her pristine maid uniform was his personal attendant—Sia—who was just the same.
And lately, as if unwilling to lose to Elena and Luna, she had begun making these modest assertions.
—Having multiple lovers was still something Byleth hadn’t gotten used to.
It would take time. But precisely because it was unfamiliar, Byleth was determined to face it more seriously than anyone else.
“For now, I’ll try my best to talk a lot today. Elena will be fine, but I think Luna might be feeling the same way I am.”
“Yes. Just knowing you’ll approach things that way makes me happy.”
Elena had an assertive personality, while Luna was more reserved. On top of that, Luna was a year younger and came from a significantly lower social standing.
Understanding the situation, Byleth wanted to interact with them carefully.
[The tension will only last at the beginning.]
Those words held truth.
“Hngh…!”
Suddenly, Byleth’s breath caught.
Glancing down, he saw it—a small, warm hand resting gently atop his.
The soft touch had reached him just moments ago.
“What’s this?”
“Th-This is! Um, to add more… persuasiveness to my earlier words! To make them more convincing, you see…!”
“O-Oh, right.”
Her logic wasn’t wrong.
But the timing of placing her hand there was undeniably late.
Had she done it naturally while saying “Just like with me…”, it wouldn’t have stood out.
This was simply a lack of experience on Sia’s part—yet in the end, it worked in her favor.
Now Byleth could see her, even more flustered and nervous than himself.
“But… yeah, I do feel a little better now. Thanks.”
“I-I’m glad… that helped!”
With that, their conversation lapsed back into silence—but this time, something remained.
“……”
“……”
Sia’s hand stayed where it was.
At the academy, they would act as usual. But in private… they had promised otherwise.
Seeing Sia’s cleverly timed, clingy move, Byleth felt his heart settle.
And now, he could see Sia’s expression—a muffled, delighted smile.
