Female Soldier Infiltration Volume 3 Chapter 3 part 1

  1. The Emerald Palace

“Let me go!!”

“Sto-o-o-p iiit!!”

Today was the day Raze was supposed to meet up with the Carne, but she had to finish her work quickly. However, a woman in a white coat was holding her waist tightly, refusing to let go. Raze screamed in distress.

“Professor Yor~!”

The genius scholar known as the “Devil in a White Coat”, Yor Carton Frederic, had captured Raze who was in quite a predicament.

Where did that slender body hide such strength? Yor wouldn’t let go no matter what.

he had gone out of her way to come to the building Raze was in, insisting on taking her back to the lab. Even if Raze teleported away, Yor would stubbornly chase after her, so Raze had given up.

“Raze. Let’s get married. Then we can do research together forever!”

“What nonsense are you spouting?!”

No matter how many times Raze told him to let go, Yor wouldn’t listen.

Raze wanted to push Yor onto someone else, but everyone who saw him dragging Yor down the hallway pretended not to notice and left. Only those who knew Raze in this building is the Nurse, but she ignored them. Yor showed no sign of embarrassment at being seen acting like a child, and kept throwing a tantrum because Raze wouldn’t listen.

“I have an important appointment today that I can’t miss!”

“I know~ You’re going to meet the golden eggs, right? If you insist on going, then I’ll come too~”

“That would be a problem!”

Despite the time pressing on, this person just wouldn’t—

If persuasion didn’t work, Raze would have to use force. If reasoning failed, she’d knock Yor out for a while.

Raze readied a karate chop.

“W-Wait! Raze!”

The one who hurriedly stopped her was a man in a white coat running over, while everyone else avoided the two of them.

Raze’s eyes shone as she looked at her savior.

“Frey!”

“Sorry about this, Raze. The professor is at it again…”

Frey Canzack, who served as Yor’s assistant or rather parent, looked radiant.

“Now, now Professor. You’re troubling Raze.”

The “Devil in a White Coat”, despite being called a genius biologist, had no dignity as the younger man scolded her.

“But I can’t make any progress without Raze.”

“Yes, yes. A grown-up shouldn’t throw tantrums. I finished analyzing the samples.”

“Really? Truly?!”

Yor took the bait.

Frey gave Raze a look signaling “Now’s your chance!”

Raze nodded with a “Thank you!” and teleported away to finish her last task before the three-day weekend.

“—I’ll finish my work in 30 minutes today! I won’t allow any more than that, so anyone who follows me will be forcibly sent back immediately! Free the pitiful experimental subjects of the Empire!”

“Yes!!”

The hasty mission that came up before Raze’s break involved dealing with the failed experiments secretly conducted by the Empire in Baluda. The had obtained information that the Empire was trying to create an army of monsters that would obey human commands, but these failed experiments seemed to be running amok in Baluda.

The location was Zone V. A piece of cake.

Raze layered enhancement and high-speed movement spells, traversing the monsters’ continent.

“—Lieutenant Dicard. I’ve lost sight of the Representative!”

At Victor’s surprised voice, Harul gave a wry smile.

“The Rep is pissed.”

“Yeah.”

Cross also smiled the same way.

Her way of fighting, reputed to be like a ghost, was the pinnacle of refined movement magic.

There was no one who could stop her at this level. She was so skilled that even the Empire resorted to forbidden arts against her.

“Listen, Victor. If you can’t keep up with the Representative, don’t chase her. You’ll just get in the way.”

“Y-Yes, sir.”

The newly recruited Sergeant Victor Ox Terria obediently nodded at his senior’s words.

Faced with enemies falling left and right, he felt there was nothing he could do.

“Well then. We can’t keep the Representative’s important friends waiting!”

“Indeed.”

Harul and Cross stepped forward.

“Eh? The Major and Captain?”

Victor was puzzled by their actions.

Seeing his confusion, the two raised their eyebrows.

“Victor. That was only around 50% of her speed.”

“—What?!”

Before Victor could process Cross’s words, they had joined the fray.

“…This is bad.”

The sergeant left behind trembled uncontrollably.

“Oh no, oh no!”

Raze fretted as she checked the time.

She was supposed to meet up with the Carne in town at 1 PM, but there were only 40 minutes left.

Though hard to make out among the dense foliage, numerous bodies lay scattered around her carelessly.

The monsters defeated by Raze were easy to identify – she had precisely struck their vital head areas with a single blow to stop their brain functions.

The purpose of defeating monsters was to collect the magic stones on their foreheads. Since removing these stones required using a short knife on the bodies, Raze preferred carrying lightweight knives as her main weapons for their maneuverability.

This time, her mission was to retrieve the magic stones and some of the actual bodies of the defeated experimental subjects, so she was diligently cleaning up. Tidying up took more effort than defeating them.

“Representative. We’ll take care of the retrieval, so please go on ahead.”

Seeing her struggle, Cross told her.

“Eh, are you sure?!”

She felt bad making her subordinates do all the cleanup work. But she also needed time to return to Oldiana and get ready.

She reeked of beast and blood. There was no way she could meet them like this.

“Thank you so much. I’ll be sure to repay the favor next time!”

“Don’t worry about it. Take care!”

Bidding farewell to her kind deputy, Raze teleported back to the base, underwent the usual body scan, and boarded the teleportation device.

Once home, she thoroughly washed herself, quickly drying with a wind elemental spell.

Not knowing what kind of place Ruben had prepared, she couldn’t show up in a shabby state. Sacrificing meal times to make time, she changed into clothes she had recently bought. For the first time in days, she braided her bangs and tried wearing the hair clasp Folia had gifted her for her birthday.

“Ah geez…the dark circles are terrible.”

Doing a final check in the mirror revealed her face looking haggard. She hurriedly applied some makeup that she rarely wore to conceal it. Finally ready, more or less.

Grabbing her trunk packed for the two-night, three-day trip, Raze teleported near the meeting spot. It was already 1 PM, the promised time.

“Oh no! I’m late!!”

Raze cried out in despair and broke into a frantic run.

“Uwah. Nobody’s here…!”

There was no one under the clocktower at the meeting place.

Raze looked around in a panic, worried she had been left behind.

“—Miss Granoli.”

“Lord Rezaia!!”

Claude emerged from the shadows, calling out to her. Relieved, she immediately apologized for being late.

“I’m sorry. It’s because I was running behind…”

“No. Addis was drawing too much attention by not caring about bystanders, so we were waiting elsewhere.”

It was frighteningly easy to imagine the situation he described.

Clad in his usual black jacket matching the academy uniform, probably because he favored dark colors, Claude moved with a fluid grace as he took Raze’s luggage and guided her.

(As expected of the son of the head butler!)

She was touched that he would show such consideration even to a commoner like her.

“Thank you.”

“…Not at all.”

Though his expression was cool, an ordinary person could not act so smoothly.

(I want my subordinates to learn from him. He must be popular with women.)

She hoped her troops could shed their barbaric image by learning from him, as the knight order was more refined than her troops.

“Were you working today as well?”

“Yes…the clean-up took longer than expected.”

“I see.”

“I’m sorry…”

Thinking she was being scolded for being late, Raze apologized again.

At that inopportune moment, her hungry stomach let out a loud growl.

Even the ever-composed Raze felt embarrassed by this.

“…Excuse me. I haven’t really eaten anything since this morning.”

“What kind of life are you living…”

Claude looked around, then headed to a food stall with an exasperated look.

“One of those, please.”

“Here you go!”

Receiving what looked like a meat bun, he offered it to Raze.

“Ah, let me pay—”

“This is nothing.”

“But still—”

“Do I look that broke to you?”

“…Thank you.”

For him to treat someone who wasn’t even a friend showed he was quite the gentleman.

(As expected of a love interest character.)

It was only natural that he would be chosen…

Looking at his gloves, Raze suddenly recalled something.
