“I’m a bit busy right now. If you just leave the dwarf girl and the monster behind, I don’t intend to lay a hand on you. It’s unfortunate to repay a favor with enmity, but can’t you withdraw, thinking you were just unlucky?”

“…Are you busy because [Norris] got captured and you no longer have him backing you up?”

At my words, Marein furrowed his brow and made a stern, bitter expression.

“…I don’t know what you’re aware of, but I can no longer let you go. I dislike perceptive scoundrels like you. You fools, get them!!”

At Marein’s rallying cry, the gathered thugs all let out war cries and came charging at us. At the bizarre scene unfolding before us, Ellen shuddered and hid behind me, screaming in tears.

“I shouldn’t have tried being politeee!?”

“Well, I intended to, but that guy was being unreasonable.”

I lightly replied to Ellen’s words with a tone of resignation. Seeing me nod, Diana adopted a combat stance and coldly declared:

“Every nation has its scum. Let’s just consider this cleaning up the filth!”

As always, Farah tightly gripped my hand, but after taking a deep breath, she firmly spoke:

“It is truly lamentable that such a person exists among my fellow nobility. However, there must be some meaning to my being present here. Asna, will you be my sword…?!”

“My lady…Understood. I shall make my body your twin blades, and we shall defeat them!”

Asna powerfully responded to her words and drew the two swords at her waist, fueled by her own anger. Shadow Cougar simultaneously removed his own collar, enlarging his body to take a combat stance while letting out a deafening roar.

“GWAAAAAAA!!”

The monster’s ferocious appearance and overpowering roar made the thugs flinch, but Marein’s voice soon rang out.

“Don’t falter, you fools! They’re just a monster and some girls…there’s no way they can match your numbers. Get them!”

And so the battle began at Marein Condroy’s mansion.

“Ah, that’s right everyone. For diplomatic reasons going forward, don’t kill the enemy, okay? Our role is just to punish them!”

At my words, everyone had an indescribable look on their faces. But ignoring their reactions, Marein’s enraged voice echoed:

“Defeat them! Spare no expense! Come at them, you lot!”

By his order, a huge group of thugs let out a “WOOOAAARGH!” while brandishing weapons and charging at us. Their outfits were not just from other countries, but included those of Renalute and the Empire too. The weapons they carried were diverse – swords, spears, chain sickles, clubs and more. More importantly, they were all rough-looking men, quite an intimidating force. Faced with them, the unnerved Ellen just kept screaming behind me.

“They’re coming!? They’re coming, they’re coming!? They’re coming for uuuussss!!”

“Ellen, try to calm down a little…”

As I tried to calm Ellen, Asna turned to me with a reverent expression and bowed.

“Tia, I apologize, but please protect the princess. I will fight in her stead and defeat those fiends.”

“Got it. I’ll protect Farah, so don’t worry. And Asna, be careful. Also, like I said before, don’t kill them. It could cause diplomatic issues later if we go overboard.”

“Heh, understood. So in other words…make them suffer a living hell, but don’t let them die, right?”

Asna flashed a mischievous smile and nodded. But I couldn’t help muttering inwardly, (Well, not quite what I meant…) At that moment, the worried-looking Farah addressed Asna with concern:

“Asna, please be careful.”

“You need not worry, my lady.”

Asna gave her a calm smile in response, then turned to face the approaching men. Asna’s current outfit of hakama and headband concealing her face was quite eccentric. Gripping her drawn sword in a reverse grip stance, she exhaled and declared with vigor:

“…Here I come!!”

After that one phrase, Asna charged at the men using that rushing style I’d seen her employ against me. The moment she leapt into the group, many men let out shrieks of “HIIIYAAAA!!” as they were sent flying. After plunging amidst the men, Diana addressed me:

“Then I shall go as well, Tia.”

“Like Asna, don’t overdo it Diana. This isn’t Baldia territory.”

“…Understood.”

Diana flashed me a defiant smile and bowed. Raising her head to look at the men, she coldly declared:

“…Those who oppose my lord shall face my iron hammer of judgment!!”

Diana activated her body reinforcement and instantly entered the fray. Taken aback by her blinding speed for a moment, the men were soon swinging their weapons down at her.

“Die, you bitch!!”

“…Too slow.”

While evading their attacks, Diana deftly struck with precise punches and kicks only to their vital spots – solar plexus, groin, nose, temples, jaw. As a result, the men facing her crumpled one by one with agonized groans, the area becoming a scene of screams. Then men’s cries echoed from another direction separate from Asna and Diana.

“AAAHHHH STOP IIIIT!!”

It seemed Shadow Cougar had also joined the fray at some point, deliberately targeting the men’s groins to rip and tear with its sharp fangs and claws. Since I had said “Don’t kill,” it wouldn’t take their lives, but as a male seemed intent on leaving them unable to reproduce. However, one burly man defiantly charged at the beast.

“You monster!! Let’s see what color your blood is!!”

The large man roared as he swung his axe down at Shadow Cougar. But the beast nimbly evaded the attack with ease. As the man struggled to regain his stance, the monster’s eyes and fangs gleamed as it pounced right at his crotch…

“GYAAAAAAAHHHH!??”

Soon after, the man’s agonized screams echoed through the mansion…my condolences.

The initial momentum was long gone, the mansion now filled with the pitiful cries of the men. Watching the scene unfold from the second floor, Marein looked on in shock, trembling as he shouted:

“I-Impossible!? What’s going on with them…!? Damn it, forget about that woman and monster, just take the kid and slime hostage!!”

Hearing his order, some of the remaining men ignored Asna and Diana, instead coming towards us. Noticing their approach, Ellen screamed from behind me again.

“UWAAAHHH!! Tia, they’re coming this way!! What do we do!?”

“Ellen, it’s okay, just stay calm…”

I moved a little away from the frantic Ellen and gave Farah a reassuring smile.

“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.”

“Y-Yes…!!”

Though twitching her ears worriedly, Farah nodded. I stepped forward to shield the two of them, extending my hand towards the approaching men. Noticing my stance, they yelled furiously:

“You damned brat!! Don’t give us that cocky attitude!!”

Facing them, I flashed a wry smile.

(Fire Lance)

The moment I silently invoked that spell name, a literal “lance of fire” with a sharpened tip manifested from my outstretched hand, unleashed towards the men. They stopped in their tracks, trembling at the incoming magic assault.

“The brat knows magic!?”

Immediately after, a powerful explosion sounded from the spot they occupied. When the noise ceased, they were charred black, groaning “Gahh…” as they collapsed face-down. I wore a cocky grin, turning my gaze to the remaining men watching us.

“Well? Anyone else want to end up charred black, be my guest…”

“Tia, as expected of you…!!”

“Wow, I…I’m sticking with Tia for life!!”

Farah and Ellen cheered in relief after seeing my magic. The remaining thugs looked thoroughly demoralized, their courage drained. But their pathetic state didn’t escape the notice of the battling maid, swordswoman and lone monster, their anguished screams continuing to fill the mansion. Seeing his forces steadily defeated, Marein turned pale as he yelled:

“Damn it!! In that case, summon the Iron Mask!!”

“…Did you call?”

Marein turned with a start to see a tall, fully-armored man in an iron mask standing behind him. The mask made his breathing audible as a eerie “Suu-haa…” with each exhale, his bizarre appearance exuding an unsettling aura.

“Y-Yes! Iron Mask, defeat the woman, child and monster downstairs! Spare no expense!”

“…Very well.”

The man called Iron Mask responded flatly before leaping down from the second floor with force. As he landed on the first floor amid a powerful impact, the thugs shuddered and scattered away from Asna and Diana’s vicinity. Iron Mask looked to Asna, drew the greatsword at his hip, and accusingly pointed at her while raising his voice:

“You…your swordsmanship looks just like someone I really hate…!! Just looking at it pisses me off!!”

As if picking a fight, he spat those words before slashing at Asna. But she was no mere target to be cut down. “Foolish man…” she muttered, evading his strike and quickly countering with her own slashing attack. Her blade clashed against Iron Mask’s armor with a harsh metallic clang. Yet as the sound rang out, Asna’s face twisted sternly.

“…Quite sturdy.”

Asna slowly turned her gaze to the sword in her hand. At that moment, something strange occurred – a “pishi” sound preceded the blade snapping cleanly in half, leaving Asna gripping just the hilt as we all looked on in shock. But then Farah, seeing Asna’s broken sword, called out worriedly:

“Asna!! Are you okay?!”

Farah’s voice echoed through the area, and the Iron Masked Man seemed to realize something, letting out a loud mocking laugh.

“…!? Fuhfuhfuhfuh, ahahahaha!! So, your name is Asna, is it? I didn’t expect to cross paths with you again here…do you not recognize my voice and swordplay?”

“Unfortunately, I don’t recall an iron mask with such poor taste,”

The man’s breathing grew ragged as he trembled with rage upon hearing Asna’s answer.

“Gggkkkk, even though it was your fault I had to wade through filthy water, you don’t remember me…?! Don’t mock me!!”

After letting out an enraged shout, the Iron Masked Man glared menacingly at Marein, who was on the second floor, with a murderous glare.
