Female Soldier Infiltration Volume 3 Chapter 2 part 1

  1. The New Term

As the snow melts, the season of new green buds arrives.

The full-fledged winter seemed to put even human activities into hibernation, and after the winter tournament, there were no major incidents, with only gentle events from the otome game that warmed the hearts. Raze’s broken arm had completely healed, and there were no further injuries, so it was quite peaceful.

“Ah, Raze senpai. Good morning!”

“Good morning~”

And so, Raze Granoli became a second-year student at the Imperial centrior Magic Academy.

The third-years had moved on to their chosen paths, giving a fresh impression to the new underclassmen who had just entered.

The senpai who caused the staircase incident in winter was also gone.

They had moved into the room used by their senpais Alisa and Marie, and a cute underclassman was in their old room. It was their turn to teach her various things now.

Raze exchanged greetings with an underclassman who came out of the room across from her and headed toward the school building. Folia had gone ahead as she was on duty today, so Raze could walk to school leisurely by herself.

It had been about two weeks since the new term began.

Her weight had dropped a bit after the long spring break, but she soon regained it by eating the delicious food at the academy. During the break, Carne and Folia had asked her to hang out with them, but dhe had declined again, so she was determined to join them next time out of sheer stubbornness.

Raze avoided using magic as much as possible when moving around the academy grounds. After confirming that today seemed to be another peaceful day by observing her surroundings, she entered the new classroom where she would be taught as a second-year student.

“Raze!”

“Lady Carne. Good morning.”

As he entered, Carne, sitting in the same seat as when they were first-years, stood up and spoke to her with a slightly excited look, even though class assignments had changed. Due to their abilities, however, the faces were not much different.

Needless to say, all the otome game cast members were in Class A.

“Look at this. We’re planning to hold a school festival this year!”

“This is…?”

Handed a booklet titled “centrior Academy Festival Plan,” Raze narrowed her eyes.

Surprisingly, the Imperial centrior Magic Academy had no culture of school festivals. With a worldview where higher education was only permitted for the wealthy, the academy was also mockingly called the “School of Nobles” behind its back. It was a place to deepen learning only for the chosen ones, so the idea of holding a festival never came up.

Apparently, about seventy years ago, they held an art exhibition, but they had never set up food stalls before.

So why did Carne suddenly propose holding a school festival now?

It was because in the otome game [Blue Orchid]’s scenario, a school festival would be held.

Apparently, the trigger was when the heroine, who had been acting together with Ruben during the Star Festival event in the summer vacation of her first year, said, “It would be fun if we could have a festival like this at the academy too.” Truly, it was an excessively trivial trigger, almost scary.

The rationale was that experiencing a pseudo-operation of commoners’ activities seen at festivals would be a good learning experience while also understanding them. Thus, a school festival was decided upon. Events like school or culture festivals were synonymous with youthful days in Raze’s previous world. As it was an event the otome game would not omit, the heroine would deepen her bonds with her romantic interests and make progress in her love life.

In reality, however, Folia and Ruben had not raised any romantic flags, and the big school festival event had been fading away…

Until recently, the old Carne would have been concerned about the catastrophe flags and hesitated to proceed.

But now, her desire to spend her youth with Ruben took precedence, which was a good tendency.

“That’s great. It sounds fun.”

Raze smiled, happy that she had made this decision.

“Right? So, Raze, I have a request. Would you join the school festival executive committee?”

“Eh?”

“It would be reassuring to have you, who has memories from your previous world. Won’t you?”

Asked with such an upward glance, there was no answer but yes.

“Of course! I’d be happy to help.”

She readily agreed.

“Everyone, thank you very much for lending us your strength in holding this school festival.”

As Raze had known since the first-year practical training, Carne’s drive was incredible.

Besides Raze, it was only natural that the members of the otome game cast had gathered for the executive committee.

Using an unused classroom as their base, they began working to make the upcoming autumn school festival a success.

As their first attempt, there would surely be various failures, but it was bound to be a rewarding task.

(The school festival arc, huh… Another event awaits.)

While having his own concerns, Raze listened to the discussion about the upcoming schedule.

First, they needed to help all the students and faculty understand what a “school festival” was. Without an image, the operation could not proceed.

What Carne was trying to do was to suddenly import and perform knowledge of a world that no one knew about.

“–So, I think we should first create a school festival proposal for all students and faculty. If possible, making a video would help them understand, but…”

Despite the daunting preparation required to hold the academy’s first school festival, Raze admired Carne for being able to attempt it.

(Video, huh… sergeant san would probably be able to do something about that…)

She thought they could easily do it by using the combat simulation machines or magical recording tools available to the military, but she couldn’t very well say that.

As Raze wondered what they would do, Luca raised his hand.

“I think I can manage it with my magic.”

As expected of the golden egg, she was surprised that Luca could do it on his own.

Even after a year, Luca was still one of the otome game’s romantic interests with whom Raze had little contact. While Raze knew Luca was the most skilled in handling magic, he was still quite a mystery.

“Thank you, Lord Luca! Carne and I will prepare the content. May I ask for your help, Raze?”

“Yes.”

While Raze had memories from her previous world, those were just memories, not something she had actually experienced herself. She felt a little uneasy, but Carne’s enthusiasm made her feel that somehow, they would manage.

And so, the curtain rose on the school festival arc produced by Carne Foote Mortens, the former villainess of an otome game.

“Folia, that looks heavy. Let me take it.”

Raze nimbly took the heavy materials that Folia was carrying.

“Eh, but Raze-chan too…”

“I’m good at physical enhancement magic besides my best type, so it’s fine.”

In truth, even without physical enhancement magic, his trained muscles could easily handle this level of load.

As Raze handled the lighter otome game events,

She recalled the recent incident and glanced sideways at Folia walking beside her.

(….As expected of Lord Mordil.)

Previously, she had only been dealing with events that interfered between Carne and Ruben, but because of that incident, Raze had also become Folia’s bodyguard.

It happened a few weeks ago–

“Raze Granoli.”

“Yes? Ah, Lord Mordil. Good day.”

Turning at the sound of his name, Raze saw a tall man elegantly dressed in a long robe that loosely flowed to his feet.

While the robes in this world were not gaudy, their sophisticated designs looked refined, Raze thought as he observed Zell.

“You seem to be close with Folia.”

“…Yes.”

Puzzled by the question, Raze nodded.

“………”

Then Zell fell silent, staring at her with a probing gaze that made Raze want to flee.

“W-Well, I often hear about Lord Mordil from Folia. She always looked so happy exchanging letters with you. Oh, and thank you for the tournament gift. It was from Relev Streis, right? The romantic sweets were perfectly suited for the angelically cute Folia.”

Feeling the need to say something, Raze brought up topics related to Folia.

At that, Zell turned his face away from her.

“Did I upset him!?” Raze grew anxious, but he had averted his gaze while placing a hand over his mouth, his ears turning red.

Raze blinked, then slyly added,

“…You’re probably unconsciously touching your ring all the time.”

“?!”

Zell looked back at Raze in surprise.

“Folia is adorable, isn’t she? I understand your concerns.”

With her warm gaze, Zell’s guilty expression returned, but he soon regained his composure.

“…Then you understand what I’m about to say?”

“Huh?”

“Make sure no ill intentions befall her. Of course, I’m not asking for free. After graduation, I’ll provide you with adequate support.”

(Power is truly terrifying…)
