Mob No.97: “I was just doing my duty as a soldier, so no need for thanks. Now excuse me, I have a report to make.”
Luckily Miss Fadilna Prilliella’s ship was largely intact without severe damage.
That the escape system didn’t activate means she’s likely unconscious.
I turned to the beam’s origin, and 6 of the latest Veritasque fighters from Tiwelsad Corp approached, the leader hailing me unbelievablely.
[Hey, you alright?! Good thing I made it in time!]
For a moment I didn’t comprehend what the leader-like man’s hail meant.
“No, she was in danger, I was about to stop her just before you barged in and intervened?”
I complained because I couldn’t stay silent as he cut in, but
[What’re you saying? Your opponent was ex-Bishop ranked Fadilna Prilliella. No way small fry like you could beat her. Without me, you’d be done for.]
Bringing up ranks, he clearly didn’t intend to listen.
Meanwhile, his comrades were dragging the cockpit with the escape module and Prilliella out of her ship.
Then the military and police finally arrived.
The military and police restrained the former Marquis Vastog family of course, and the former Marquis’ private soldiers too.
The leader-like man, Oreade Garbright, insisted they had raided and captured them.
Well, that’s likely mostly true, and I’ve no way to verify even if it’s a lie.
But I objected regarding the capture of Fadilna Prilliella, since he was twisting it for his benefit.
“Fadilna Prilliella was about to be captured by me just before that man over there barged in!”
“What’re you saying! You were done for if I hadn’t saved you!”
Leader-like man Garbright rebutted me.
This was headed to a futile argument where I’d lose once his sympathizers outnumbered me, but
“It’s undisputed that Mr. Garbright cut in and seized Mr. Uzos’ [prey].”
A woman in a pilot suit appeared supporting me.
“That’s wrong! He was in trouble so I saved him!”
“You deliberately held back until Fadilna Prilliella was cornered, then jumped in exquisitely timed right? I have video and audio I recorded infiltrating to prove the encroachment.”
“Th-that’s fabricated, fabricated!”
Garbright faltered briefly but still objected, but wilted when the woman supporting me coldly glared at him.
Checking the video and audio she released, the evidence of lying in wait to encroach was clear.
“Usurping others’ achievements is nothing but foolishness. Most of all it lowers your own value.”
“Ngh…”
Glared at again, Garbright made a face like he was biting back bile, and said no more.
By the way, the woman had seemed familiar to me.
I couldn’t recall where, but I definitely recognized her.
While pondering who she was, she was apparently asked for ID by the police, answering
“I am Lieutenant Colonel Schneidera Floss of the Central Fleet Strike Force 1st Fleet. While on vacation here, I was scouted strangely so got permission from my direct superior for an infiltration investigation.”
Showing her ID, the military personnel there of course, but also the officers stiffened to attention.
Hearing that, I finally recalled where I’d seen her – the secretary-like woman beside General Jack Bardou Bleskin when I had trouble with Burnext.
Without her, I’d have been overwhelmed by Garbright’s group and the credit stolen, only able to swallow it bitterly.
I could only be grateful so I expressed thanks and appreciation, but
“Um… Thank you for your assistance.”
“I was just doing my duty as a soldier, so no need for thanks. Now excuse me, I have a report to make.”
She briskly headed to a military ship.
After that, I and the other mercs who had undertaken the search requests were released just by showing our IDs and the guild verifying us, but the general public who had gone along seemingly underwent lengthy statement taking and questioning.
Incidentally, Oreade Garbright had acted together with the protagonist-like types who raided the ringleaders, but apparently wasn’t one of their companions.
And so, the masterminds – the former Marquis Vastog family and Miss Fadilna Prilliella – were captured, alongside masses of the former Marquis’ private soldiers and wanted criminals with outstanding warrants after the rebellion, plus 2 more former nobles turned pirate after the rebellion.
My info fee was around 100,000 credits since many people found them, but I got 4 million credits for the bounty on Fadilna Prilliella.
The discovered Gate’s finders being criminals resulted in government confiscation and continued administration apparently.
I pushed my exhausted mind and body to somehow return to Planet Ytts, but rather than go straight home where I’d likely shut myself in for a while, I decided to run my various errands first.
First I went to Mr. Loans to receive the info and bounty fees.
“Yoohoo, long time no see!”
“Oh, you’re back. Heard you caught Fadilna Prilliella and some punk barged in on you.”
“News sure travels fast.”
Mr. Loans knowing means Yuri Prilliella aka Hero definitely heard too. Gotta be careful or it may get bad.
Oblivious to my unease, Mr. Loans continued.
“The guy who barged in on you, he’d been causing issues at other branches, and finally got caught seems like. His MO is as you experienced – in fighter craft battles, right when the target’s one step from finished, jump in, beat them, then push the narrative that [I saved them because they were in trouble], then use his buddies to loudly insist he saved the day and seize the credit.”
“Surprised he kept it up undetected so long.”
“Seems he threatened the ones he snatched credit from using family power.”
By the way, the raid ringleaders were of course a beautiful merc team, and with Lieutenant Colonel Floss there too the publicity and media would love it.
Makes me wonder how many [proper nobles] not participating in the rebellion there really were.
“So that info fee plus the Fadilna Prilliella bounty totals 4.1 million credits. Information reward fine?”
Anyway, want to finish errands early today then sleep till I’m sick of it at home….

Heroine? Side: Schneidera Floss
I never imagined while on vacation visiting a friend at the asteroid belt city after getting leave approved post-rebellion suppression, I would get caught up in this.
I could have ignored it, but since it might involve Marquis Vastog the rebellion mastermind, after consulting with General Bleskin I was told [Infiltrate] so apologized to my friend and infiltrated, and luckily struck gold it seems.
The group who raided the masterminds were terribly clumsy, but succeeded.
However, there was a hole since one mastermind escaped, so I pursued them and found someone noticed and was blocking the escape route, battling them.
And just when the battle would conclude, the group who arrived after me watched the holdup, then jumped in raid the mastermind side precisely when it ended, so I proved the encroachment with video I recorded infiltrating.
But I was surprised by the one I had trapped – John Uzos, whom I investigated before on General Bleskin’s orders.
Watching his battle, his skill rivaled ace military pilots.
I pilot fighter craft too, but I likely wouldn’t beat him.
Seems the General’s eye for talent was right on.
I should report this for now.
