Go~o ooooooooooooooooooooooo~t! ! !
A roar like that of a beast resounded, and the golden light and jet-black lightning clashed, as everything around us other than those protected by the two’s light – insects, animals, even small spirits – perished.
The jet-black lightning tried to destroy everything, but the great spirits desperately protected the hopeful humans.
In that moment, my tattered cloak and torn dress transformed into a new dress, with a black choker wrapping protectively around me.
As I crushed the lightning, the aftershock scattered, carving black letter-like markings into the rubble wall.
Ah…
It’s finally here…
…… He” is…
Hevrat, known as the “Demon King”, was born as the son of the Demon Clan’s king.
His mother was one of the king’s many concubines, and he heard that she was killed by another wife right after giving birth to Hevrat.
The king had many wives and children, and they were constantly fighting each other to become the next ruler.
Hevrat, without any powerful supporters, was expected to be killed off quickly.
But Hevrat survived. Some took pity on him and hid him, but the main reason was that Hevrat was a wise person.
From a young age, Hevrat had “memories” that were different from his own.
He had the life story of a different man, which flowed through his mind like a slide show. From this, Hevrat learned different ways of thinking and ethics.
The man’s life was not a happy one – he was exploited by others and ultimately died from overwork. Hevrat learned from this cautionary tale, using traps to kill his rivals one by one.
Even though he knew this was wrong, Hevrat ruthlessly eliminated all of his father’s wives and siblings in order to survive, and the king was impressed by his cruelty and named him as the successor.
Trained in this harsh manner, Hevrat learned the truth and was filled with despair.
Even if that man’s life was Hevrat’s “past life”, it was just “knowledge” to him now. How that man lived no longer mattered to Hevrat.
However, the man’s knowledge had strongly influenced Hevrat’s thinking.
The Demon Clan’s kingdom was in ruin, with no sunlight and poor crop yields. But it was still Hevrat’s homeland. Guided by the ethics he had learned, Hevrat tried to build a good kingdom as the next king.
But this wish could not be fulfilled.
The Demons could only take from others, not create anything. They were only focused on deceiving others and pulling each other down, with no drive to improve. Hevrat realized the Demons were doomed.
Likely within a hundred years, the Demons would be destroyed.
Recognizing that changing the Demons’ way of thinking was impossible, Hevrat fell into despair and made a decision.
The Demon King is a title for the ruler of the Demon Clan, not a “Demon King-level” being like the ancient, calamitous demons.
A “Demon King-level” being is one step above the “Calamity-level” great spirits and demons. When such a being appears, a “Hero” is chosen by the spirits.
If the Demon King truly had “Demon King-level” power, they could forcefully subjugate the Demons and change their consciousness.
But Hevrat’s father, and Hevrat himself, only had “Calamity-level” power, not enough to save the doomed Demon Clan.
At age 15, Hevrat killed his father and became the Demon King, acting together with the few like-minded supporters he had, such as Cordle.
Now, 20 years later… The massive magic circle in the depths of the Demon King’s castle has amassed tremendous magical power.
With this power, Hevrat plans to summon a powerful demon.
But summoning a demon is extremely dangerous. So Hevrat has been studying many texts, intending to call upon a reasonably intelligent “demon scholar” instead.
“It’s almost time… Francois.”
Hevrat’s wish will soon be fulfilled. In these 20 years, he has gained new enemies but also important allies. One is the demon general Cordle, but Hevrat couldn’t fail this plan, for the sake of the daughter he loves.
She is not his own blood, but a dwarven girl who was cast out and persecuted. Hevrat took pity on her as a child and raised her as his own daughter.
For her sake, and for the sake of the Demons who trust him, Hevrat has reaffirmed his resolve. But then, unexpectedly, something happened.
“What is this…?”
The magic power being regularly sent by Cordle, who had gone to the human kingdom in search of magic power, has already accumulated about 80% of what is needed for the summoning.
Cordle reported that the “Holy Maiden” in the Holy Kingdom possessed vast pure magical power, which he would surely seize.
Hevrat had been worried about Cordle facing the Demons’ enemy, the Holy Maiden, but now he sees an abnormal situation – the magic circle is instantly overwhelmed by the massive influx of magic power, glowing with a “golden” aura of power beyond what was expected.
“Cut off the connection!”
“I can’t stop it!”
Hevrat shouts at his subordinates handling the magic power reception circle, but the sheer quantity of magic power seems unstoppable.
And the summoning magic circle, absorbing this power, begins activating on its own, glowing brighter.
“Who activated that? Stop it! Destroy it if you have to!”
Yelling this, the Demon King Hevrat himself draws his sword and rushes out.
Summoning a demon requires great caution. Forcibly calling one with raw magic power alone could fail to summon the intended demon, and worse, unleash hundreds of millions of demons upon the world.
In the worst case… even a monster that can’t be contracted could be summoned…

────…… Gaaaahhhh…… ────
A beast-like roar echoes from the depths of the earth…
Hevrat power that burst out is repelled by the magical power of the magic circle. Cursing everything with that horrifying “voice”, Hevrat unleashes its greatest magic.
“–Scorching Heat–!”
A giant, searing fireball is fired, evaporating the surroundings as it crashes into the massive magic circle.
The plan may be back to square one, but even so, they could not unleash that abhorrent existence without any constraints.
But in that moment–
GRROOOAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRHHHH!!!
A “beast’s” roar that shakes the entire demon realm resounds.
Rage, resentment, hatred – that roar, imbued with negative emotions, blows away the scorching magic and emerges from the raging flames.
“Ooooooh…”
The old man, Geass, watching from the shadows, lets out a joyful cry.
“My wish will come true… hahahaha, hahahahaha!!”
As the old man laughs madly, it finally reveals its true form on the other side, and seeing its true nature, Hevrat collapses in despair.
Hevrat didn’t know. That the “Evil Doctor” demon had already been killed. That the “beast” that killed it was there.
Hevrat had unwittingly summoned that existence.
“Damn it…”
Over 10 meters tall, a “dark” ebony-black mass.
The ancient demon in the form of a panther that once instilled terror in the world… the legendary “demon beast” —
It is —
“…The demon beast… the ‘dark beast’…!”
The ebony-black demon beast forcibly tears apart the binding of the magic circle still trying to restrain it, and lets out a roar towards the south, unleashing ebony-black lightning.

I returned to the royal capital as usual.
Well, how should I put it, there was quite a commotion because of that, but I split off, and the black demon that came to bother the golden one has settled down.
Has it settled down…? Well, since nothing more happened, I guess it has.
Duke Capel and Cordelia are safe, and Cordelia was quite depressed because her mother went missing, but the brainwashing has been lifted, so she’ll probably work things out eventually.
Duke Capel has also agreed, and it seems he’s considering recuperating at Zess’s place.
As for Duke Capel, he seems to have reflected a great deal after hearing the details, and is trying to atone as if the curse has been lifted, but for now, he’s waiting for Grandfather’s judgment.
But well, if you listen carefully, it seems the worst ones are Lady Isabella and the demons, so I don’t think it’s that bad. It’s all the demons’ fault.
Duke Capel has also humbly bowed his head to me and officially become a member of that organization, and is now quite fluffy. …My assets are increasing again.
But still…
[Nyah]
“Nia? Stop swinging that sword.”
“Eeeeh~”
Dissatisfied, are we?
