Ship Operation Log Volume 1 Chapter 1 part 7

“That’s enough out of you lot!”

“Grandpa!/Gramps!”

Grandpa had arrived with a few guards and scolded the sisters before letting out a deep sigh.

“Really now…just because the client is Shaun and you’ve known him since he was a baby is no excuse to be so careless and rude. You’re being far too inconsiderate.”

The sisters shrank a bit at Grandpa’s scolding, but naturally refused to relinquish the foods they had claimed.

“My apologies. I’ll cover the full cost of the ingredients.”

“I’d appreciate that. This is a bit much even for me.”

Grandpa understood the sisters wouldn’t give up their spoils, so reimbursement was the standard approach.

The reason was that Grandpa also enjoyed my cooking.

But unlike the sisters, he didn’t resort to pillaging –

a welcome difference from their usual behavior.

Or rather, not pillaging is how one should normally act.

So to make that distinction clear, I headed to my room and took out an industrial-sized storage container from the small refrigerator, bringing it back out.

“It’s an honor to meet you! I’m the broker Charlie Rex! Lord Cloyd-Drakken, the former Supreme Commander of the Drakken Group!”

Charlie excitedly took Grandpa’s hand and greeted him.

The sisters were still there, but all the prepared foods, snacks, and fruit wines – everything except the ingredients and seasonings – had been taken to Charlie’s ship Kokinos Gremos by Grandpa’s guards.

“Gramps, got a minute?”

Charlie glared at me for interrupting his exchange with Grandpa.

“No need to glare. Tirana, hold this for a sec.”

“Yes, but…”

I smiled at Charlie and handed the container to the confused Tirana,

then turned my eyes to Grandpa.

“Gramps, Charlie asked me for this, said I could give it to you.”

“Hm? What is it?”

As Grandpa leaned in, I opened the lid.

“Oh! Thank you kindly, my boy♪ I do apologize♪”

Grandpa beamed and took Charlie’s hand in thanks.

Charlie, quickly grasping the situation, replied smoothly:

“Not at all. Please accept it as a gesture of goodwill!”

They immediately got on the same page.

The container held soy sauce-marinated soft-boiled eggs.

They’re made by soaking soft-boiled eggs in a special soy sauce marinade for at least overnight.

These had been marinating for three days, as I had prepared them the day we entered hyperjump.

The kitchen fridge was full, so I stored them in the small bedroom fridge.

While Draconian people love alcohol, they also have a fondness for eggs.

And among the Drakken family and their circle, these soy sauce-marinated eggs were an especial favorite.

Naturally, my sisters noticed them immediately.

“Shaun! You were hiding those!”

“It’s our guest’s food, of course it’s for our guest.”

Tina grabbed my collar, but I didn’t resist.

“Grandfather! Please share some with me too, won’t you? Pretty please?”

Maya was already pleading with Grandpa, while

“Shaun! Can you make some for me too?”

“I don’t have the ingredients.”

“Ehh!?”

Sara immediately asked me to make them for her.

It was amusing to see their differing reactions.

Grandpa took the eggs from Tirana, cradling them happily.

“Then I shall enjoy these at my leisure. Shaun, why don’t you and our guest join me for a meal aboard my ship?”

He holds it tightly and happily returns to his ship.

With no reason to refuse, Charlie and I agreed to accompany him.

Tirana tried to stay behind, but Charlie forcibly brought her along with an arm around her waist.

As he explained,

“It’s only natural for a secretary to attend.”

It was past noon galactic standard time anyway,

so we accepted Grandpa’s invitation to lunch.

The meal aboard Grandpa’s ship Kokinos Gremos was a lively affair.

It began with an exchange of information each party held.

The sisters enviously eyed the soy eggs I had gifted Grandpa, pleading for some.

Charlie excitedly talked about his business.

Big sister Sara relentlessly sexually harassed Tirana.

Big sister Tina got overexcited telling her story about fighting pirates and whitecoats, and ended up breaking the table. It was just noisy in general.

And the most persistent was big sister Sara.

“Hey Shaun, just become my girl already. Get fixed as a girl and get gene therapy to become a Draconian. Let’s become the four sisters.”

“I already said no.”

“Do you know why I’m trying so hard to persuade you?”

She pleaded with moist eyes, but I knew her real intentions.

“It’s so you can drink as much fruit wine as you want and make me cook the snacks for it, right?”

“Bingo!”

Of course I know she’s worried about me too, but her obvious motives for alcohol and food can’t be overlooked.

We’re already like family anyway.

After the lively lunch ended, Charlie and I returned to the [White Cargo].

The sisters told us to stay over, but we decided to stay on the ship since information came that the space port closure would be lifted soon.

Needless to say, the sisters came over looking for a free dinner of course.

After dinner, which was even noisier than lunch, I did the dishes and immediately went to sleep.

The dream I had that night seemed good.

*** Apris-Eulend ***

Leaving the docking area of the Beantenz space port, my subordinates were neatly lined up.

And there was no one else besides my subordinates.

It felt truly comfortable.

The space that this noble person like myself passes through must be like this.

The mere presence of vile commoners in the space port itself is disrespectful to me.

Naturally, they should be like this without me even giving orders.

“Herr Eulend . We have been awaiting you.”

The head subordinate lowered his head obsequiously.

What was his name again?

Well, it’s a trivial matter.

“As ordered, you made it unmanned starting three days ago, it seems.”

“Yes. We replaced all the air and did not let a single control officer out of the control tower that would be needed for guidance.”

“Indeed. As expected.”

The space that a noble person like myself passes through must be purified.

I would not want to breathe the air that vile commoners exhaled.

The only reason I am resigning myself as an aide to the Galactic Republic councilors, despite being such a noble person, is to purge all the councilors not of noble birth.

Upstarts, vile commoners. The fools who pander to those vile commoners. Petty girls who are just smart. Boys barking nonsense like tax reform – all those unfit to be councilors will be purged, and when all the councilors are filled with noble people, they will entreat me, and I shall be appointed the Eternal Council President.

This will be a turning point in a great history for the galaxy.

“I have been awaiting you, Herr Eulend.”

The one who appeared before me was a subordinate of the Beantenz councilor who, though a commoner, was an exceptional one who hoped for noble people like me to become councilors.

When I become the Eternal Council President, I may use him as a servant at best.

But more importantly, those behind him were of greater consequence.

“More than you, it is them.”

I headed towards the beautiful women who were more to my liking, befitting of me.

The women, knowing their place, clung to me, rubbing their bodies shamelessly against mine.

Especially fervently pressing their chests against my face and head.

Being able to touch a noble person like me must be the greatest joy for these women, so it can’t be helped.

But still,

they are clinging rather fiercely.

“Hey. Enough, get off me already. Can’t you understand to get off?!”

But the women would not let go of me.

In fact, they constricted me with an inhuman force.

“Kill her! Kill this woman!”

In an instant, my guards blew off the woman’s head.

As expected, the woman was an android, but even so, the force constricting me did not relax.

I glared at the flustered commoner man in front of me.

This was likely his doing.

Indeed, letting commoners near was a mistake.

“Kill this fool! No, more importantly, get this off me quickly! Hurry! Hurry up you useless…”

#$%^&**&^%…

*** Shaun-Lyatt ***

The next morning.

When I turned on the TV, every channel was reporting the news about the death of Councilor Aide Apris-Eulend.

The place of death was inside the Beantenz space port right in front of us.

Apparently, Apris had their head crushed by a female android welcoming party.

The channels had varying analyses – some reported it as an accident, others blamed Beantenz staff who prepared the android, and some even had the preposterous claim of an assassination plot stemming from a feud with Galactic Empire nobility supremacists, absurdly matched with an excessive amount of supposed evidence.

But the most important part was that the Beantenz space port would open by tomorrow morning in Galactic Standard Time.

Direct planetary approach would be permitted from noon today in Galactic Standard Time, but the space port itself would take more time due to recalling staff, repairs, maintenance, bringing in goods and food supplies, transporting the control officers who were essentially under house arrest to the hospital and handing over duties, and so on.

Grandpa’s ship Kokinogremos was going to do a direct planetary approach, it seemed.

Well, for that ship, it wouldn’t nitpick about fuel costs and such, so of course.

My ship could do a direct approach too if needed, but I don’t want to since it guzzles fuel.

The delivery deadline is flexible, and this news will have spread across the galaxy, so they’ll probably understand the reason.

Well, the delivery location is right in front of us, so no problem there.

In any case, if the space port is opening tomorrow morning, I’ll just relax until then.

I did get reimbursed for the stolen food supplies too, so maybe I’ll make a shopping list.

……It’s me. The process is complete.

……Yes.

The wretched death of that arrogant man should have been sufficiently dramatized.

I never thought he would go so far as to order the complete lockdown of direct approaches to the space port and planet himself……

It was regrettable for the space port staff and sailors, but thanks to that, they will not be suspected.

……Yes.

The clean-up was also perfect.

Since he originally had Imperialist nobility supremacist leanings, he won’t be questioned……

For the Beantenz government as well, this should provide a foothold for disposing of defective products.

……Yes.

……Yes. Let it proceed that way then.

I shall take my leave.

The Chairman of the Council, Your Excellency. ……
