“By the way Grandpa, what happened to the Great Wall? If you had that, it would have been obvious at a glance.”
The Great Wall is the prized ultra-dreadnought class combat transport ship of the Drakken Group, a monster that can go toe-to-toe with the fleets of the Galactic Republic Defense Force.
[Ah that one’s under maintenance right now. This Kokinogremos is a slightly smaller one.]
Grandpa laughed as he stroked his beard.
[Since I can’t move anyway, I have some things piled up to talk about. Why don’t you come over?]
“I have some passengers on board right now, so let me get their permission first.”
I momentarily muted the mic and turned to face Charlie and Tirana.
“So what do you think?”
I asked the two who had been listening for permission.
“You…know some unbelievable people…”
Charlie slumped into the co-pilot’s chair, an expression of astonishment on his face.
“To be precise, he’s an old friend of my grandfather’s. So I’ve known him since I was a kid. As you’ve probably heard…”
“Of course we’re going! This is a chance to meet the former Grand Marshal of the Drakken Group, Cloyd-Drakken!”
“Alright, alright! What about you Tirana?”
Pressured by Charlie’s enthusiasm, I also asked Tirana.
“If Charlie-sama approves, I have no objections.”
Having received permission from the two of them, I confirmed Kokinogremos’s position and set a marker.
“Alright, I’ll be heading over there now, so get the docking tunnel ready.”
[Got it. I’ll prepare for it.]
I started the engines and began slowly moving the ship.
Following the marker, we approached Kokinogremos where Grandpa was.
Although he had said it was smaller than the Great Wall, what appeared before us was an ultra-dreadnought class combat transport ship no different in size from the Great Wall.
“Grandpa! How is this smaller than the Great Wall?!”
[It’s about twenty meters shorter, isn’t it?]
As far as I could remember, the Great Wall was 1,625 meters long.
Going by Grandpa’s words, Kokinogremos would be 1,605 meters then.
“You don’t call that small…”
Grandpa can be quite vague or nitpicky at times.
Soon, we approached Kokinogremos’s entrance hatch.
This time, instead of Grandpa, a male Draconian communications officer appeared on the monitor.
[“White Cargo”. We will emit a guide beam from here.]
“Roger. Confirming guide beam from [Kokinogremos]. Beginning automated docking procedures.”
I switched on the auto-navigation, and we slowly approached and stopped.
“Docking complete. Holding position.”
[“White Cargo” holding position confirmed. Deploying docking tunnel.]
After a while, we heard the clanking sound of the docking tunnel making contact.
[Tunnel set in place and air injected. Open the door on your side.]
“Roger.”
After confirming the docking, I stopped the engines and left the cockpit.
“Finally, a meeting with the top executives of the galactically renowned business world. I’m not wasting this chance.”
Charlie fussed over his appearance, while
“Just make sure to remember their names and faces, but don’t be rude, okay?”
Tirana straightened my collar and hem like a fussy housewife.
I could understand their feelings.
To me, Grandpa is just a boisterous old man I’ve known since I was a kid. But to others, he is a great industrialist equivalent to owning a nation-state, the founder of a massive financial empire that manages multiple colonies, and a former Grand Marshal.
There must be countless people vying to get connected to him.
That’s why I try not to contact Grandpa much or boast about knowing him.
“Let’s keep the fact that I know Cloyd-Drakken to ourselves.”
So I reminded Charlie.
“Got it. So you don’t want weirdos bothering you about setting up appointments right? Good thinking.”
He may be cheeky, but it’s better than him blabbing about it.
“Alright, opening up.”
But when I opened the door, it wasn’t Grandpa or security there – it was three beautiful women.
And I knew these three women.
“Ah! You sisters are on board too?”
“Sisters?”
Charlie questioned my words.
“They’re Grandpa’s granddaughters that I’ve known since I was a kid.”
“Don’t tell me…the [Three Drakken Sisters]?!”
Charlie blurted out in surprise.
The [Three Drakken Sisters]
refers to the granddaughters of the former Grand Marshal of the Drakken Group, Cloyd-Drakken.
The eldest, Sarafinia-Drakken, manages numerous companies under the group’s umbrella. With a foresight akin to clairvoyance and a discerning eye that misses no wrongdoing, she is known as the “Empress of the Evil Eye.”
The second daughter, Mileyana-Drakken, oversees all of the group’s transportation networks. She demonstrates unmatched skill in spacecraft operation, logistics, and combat command.
The third daughter, Tinarossa-Drakken, is a martial artist who has swept all the fighting tournaments in the Galactic Republic. She boasts top-class prowess in close-quarters combat (CQC) and close-quarters battle (CQB), commanding all of the group’s security forces.
Just like Grandpa, or perhaps even more so, there are probably many eager to get close to them.

Without saying a word, the sisters began inspecting the interior of the ship.
Since they hadn’t looked around during Grandfather Balkus’ anniversary, I thought maybe that’s why, so I tried speaking to them:
“Didn’t realize you sisters were aboard. It’s been a while…”
But the moment I said that, the three of them suddenly charged into the kitchen at an astounding speed.
Their actions left me, Charlie and Tirana dumbfounded.
However, I soon realized why they had come.
What were they doing here?
But it was already too late.
“Found some fruit wines! There’s plum liqueur, apricot liqueur, and peach liqueur!”
“Yay! Raisin sandwich cookies! Oh! And chocolate cake too!”
“Found some sausages! And salt-cured tuna too!”
In the blink of an eye, the refrigerators and food storage in the kitchen were thoroughly ransacked.
“What’s going on here?”
Bewildered by the sisters’ behavior, Charlie turned to me.
“You know Draconians tend to eat much more than regular humans, and are quite the gourmets, right?”
“Yeah, but surely the leading family of the Drakken Group isn’t starving for food?”
So why were they doing this?
The reason, though I don’t know why, is that my cooking happened to suit the tastes of the Drakken family and those around them.
Draconians need immense amounts of food to maintain their powerful, durable and long-lived bodies.
Moreover, they are particular about food, and skilled chefs are highly respected in Draconian society.
At the same time, even if one is human, a chef recognized by Draconians is considered a top-class chef.
“My amateur cooking just happened to appeal to their tastes, along with the fact that they’ve known me since I was a kid.”
“That’s unthinkable. Draconians make no compromises when it comes to food, even if it’s made by family.”
Mileyana-Drakken=Maya, who had secured an entire box of the raisin sandwich cookies for safekeeping, joined the conversation while eating.
“Espechialy from famiwee, Dwaconiansh are mowsh shtwict.” (Especially from family, Draconians are most strict.)
“Don’t talk with your mouth full, Maya-neechan.”
Though she was eating the raisin sandwich cookies as she spoke.
“Bud idsh been sho wong shinsh Shaun’s homemade shweets.” (But it’s been so long since Shaun’s homemade sweets.)
Mileyana-Drakken had red scales, black eyes and black hair tied in a ponytail, with the appearance of a beautiful college student.
Imagine
a young college girl firmly holding a box of cookies under her arm, munching on raisin sandwich cookies.
To those who only know her from the media and magazines, she would seem too good to be true.
However, there was one man who was captivated by her.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Maya. I am Charlie Rex, a broker and merchant.”
He bowed politely, gave her a stern look, and smiled at Maya.
“…Mmph! Oh hello! I’m Mileyana-Drakken.”
It seemed Maya had just noticed her fellow passenger and hurriedly swallowed the raisin sandwich cookie to return the greeting.
Seizing the opportunity, Charlie tried to get on Maya’s good side and bring up business.
“What, did you two team up for a job?”
From the kitchen, Tina Rossa-Drakken (Tina) appeared, holding containers filled with prepared ingredients and preserved foods.
“This is a client. For the cargo we’re transporting.”
“And that android?”
Tina turned her gaze to Tirana while munching on a homemade sausage.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Tirana, an android serving as Mr. Charlie’s secretary.”
“Our names sound kinda similar.”
Tina stared at Tirana, cheeks bulging with sausage, as she politely greeted them.
Tina had the same black scales as Grandpa and kept her hair short because long hair was too much trouble. She often wore miniskirts or pants with a hole for her tail –
an athletic, high-school girl look.
And in front of us talking, Sarafinia-Drakken, the eldest of the three sisters, was trying to haul out a huge amount of bottled fruit wine using some kind of hovering handcart.
“Sis, don’t just take those!”
“It’s fine! We have so many!”
With blue scales and wavy long hair, Sarafinia had the best proportions of the sisters and was a sommelier qualified for various alcoholic drinks – a huge drinker.
While Draconian people as a race enjoy alcohol, Sarafinia especially loved it.
“You have tons of fancy gift bottles and tribute wines in your prized liquor storage!”
“But these taste so good!”
She clung to the bottles of fruit wine and whined – a far cry from her nickname “Empress of the Evil Eye.”
Well, she could afford to act that way since she was an orphaned noble whose grandfather and parents had passed away.
And the other two sisters were also wheeling out handcarts piled with snacks, prepared ingredients, and preserved foods.
I have to give up now.
There was no stopping them once they had taken a liking to the food.
Then a new figure appeared.
