[Epilogue.]
It’s been a few days since that hectic incident.
It’s been officially reported that Juke Andraus was found to be connected to the “Lightning Strike Flone”, and has been secretly executed by the kingdom.
Apparently my father, who knows all the details, spoke to the king and had it arranged this way – a simple performance to appease the public.
The real him is being held in the kingdom’s underground prison. There’s no reason to kill source of the information.
Though, he’s apparently gone mentally unsound and can no longer hold a proper conversation…he has no one to blame but himself.
Andraus kept hold of things he should have discarded, showing just how much of a Flone fanatic he was.
But in the end, dragging Flone’s name into his last attempt to escape responsibility shows that he cared most about himself.
This whole incident has led to various changes. In the nobility circles, Juke Andraus’ disappearance has had a major impact, and corrupt lords are now fighting behind the scenes to succeed his slave trade operations.
However, none of them hold as much influence as the Andraus family did, and the kingdom is systematically crushing the exposed fools.
That’s what’s changed for the world.
As for the changes around me…
“…Lord Ouga, please open your mouth wide, ‘ahhh’.”
“Ahhh.”
The maid Alice has become even more diligent in caring for me since her return.
The cause is the bandages wrapped around my right arm.
It seems the aftereffects of the “[Limit Transcendence]” I used in my battle against the brainwashed Alice still linger, as a chronic pain won’t subside.
The [Healing] magic only works on sword wounds, leaving me confined like this.
Even my body, gifted from the heavens, couldn’t withstand the repeated use of [Limit Transcendence], it seems.
That’s all it took to leave me in shambles, so I’ll have to seal it away for a while.
When I realized my arm was unusable, I had trouble stopping Alice from trying to cut off her own right arm…
After convincing her, she’s now serving as a replacement for my right arm (physically), caring for me in a maid-like manner.
Perhaps because of that, Alice has uncharacteristically not handed off this duty to Mashiro and the others.
“Thank you for the meal.”
“You’re welcome. Lord Ouga, are you alright in the restroom?”
“I’m fine. I can handle that much on my own, you don’t need to follow.”
“Is that so……”
As for other changes, it feels like the distance between us has become closer.
Previously, she seemed to be intentionally restraining her emotions, but that barrier has been removed.
Perhaps there was some sort of breakthrough within her.
I’d prefer if she didn’t get so down just because she can’t accompanied me to the restroom.
“…Ah, about time.”
Glancing at the clock, it’s the time I was summoned by my father.
As I stand to head to the office, Alice opens the door for me.
Strangely, there’s a wheelchair waiting in the hallway.
“…Alice. What’s this?”
“In case Lord Ouga were to stumble and further aggravate your arm, I’ve prepared this as a precaution.”
I thought it was just another one of her usual reckless acts, but I was surprised to find out that there was a proper reason behind it. That part is a secret.
If that’s the case, then I’ll leave it to her.
I settle into the wheelchair, and Alice carefully pushes me.
“Being so doted on like this, I might end up becoming a useless person.”
“Lord Ouga tends to bottle things up, so I thought this would be just about right.”
“Is that so? …But, yes. After my arm has healed, I’ll have you join me for plenty of training.”
“Understood. I’ll put together a rehabilitation menu.”
“If I get lazy, the backlash is going to be terrifying.”
“Let’s take it slowly and steadily regain your senses.”
…Yeah, this leisurely pace is nice once in a while.
In fact, I wish it could continue forever.
These recent days have been exactly the laidback lifestyle with a beautiful girl waiting on me that I aimed for.
“Ah, stairs. Shall I stand up for these?”
“No need, please remain seated. I’ll carry you down as is.”
Alice effortlessly lifts the wheelchair and carries me down the stairs.
At the very end of the hallway is the office I’m headed to.
“Thank you, Alice. For the return–“
“I’ll wait here for you, so please don’t worry.”
“–I see. Then, I’m counting on you.”
It’s not a bad thing, so I’ll let Alice have her way.
“Also, Lord Ouga. While you’re at it, please take this.”
Alice hands me a cute pink stationery.
Our correspondence has been steadily continuing.
Thanks to that, I’ve learned new things about Alice.
Little things like her liking sour fruits, and being slightly afraid of dogs…nothing major, but that’s enough.
It’s Odd That We Haven’t Had More Lively Discussions Beyond Just Physical Theories, Martial Arts, and Magic.
…Come to think of it, the last lively topic was muscles, wasn’t it?
On the way back, I should be sure to expand the conversation by drawing from the information I’ve gathered through our letter exchanges. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do.
With that resolve, I went to put Alice’s letter in my pocket, when I noticed her gaze fixed on me.
And somehow, she seemed a bit fidgety and busy.
“…Is something wrong?”
“…Forgive me. I’m not accustomed to such matters… That is, Ouga-sama. If it’s not too presumptuous, I would be grateful if you could reply to that letter sooner rather than later.”
“Is that all? Consider it done. As soon as I’m done talking with Father, I’ll read it right away.”
“…! Y-yes…!”
Seems she was satisfied with that. Heh heh, this new way of politely asking is a good change.
Well, I shouldn’t keep Father waiting too long. I knock on the door.
“Come in, Ouga. It’s fine to enter.”
“Excuse me, Father–“
My thoughts froze for a moment.
There, across from Father, was a face I recognized – a famous one.
…Wait, isn’t that the King? Why would the King be in our home?! No, that’s not it!
I hastily dropped to one knee, bowing my head in greeting.
“I deeply apologize, King Ambrald!”
“Ha ha ha! This is the first time we’ve met face to face, Ouga-Vellet. I hear my foolish son has been quite a handful for you. …You are a talented young man. Show me your courageous side.”
“Such kind words, Your Majesty! I am unworthy, but I thank you.”
With permission granted, I raised my head and took the seat next to Father, who was patting it.
He seems to be enjoying my reaction…!
“Father. You should have informed me if the King was coming.”
“Gahahaha! It’s a surprise, a surprise! Caught you off guard, didn’t I?”
“I nearly had a heart attack…”
“Ah hah hah, my apologies, Ouga. I asked Gordon to keep it quiet.”
With the King saying that, I couldn’t argue further.
I’ve decided to play the obedient part, lest I draw the attention of the highest authority.
“Well then, Ouga has arrived. Let’s get right to the main topic.”
“…Forgive me, but I know nothing of the content. What is this about?”
“No need to apologize. This information is being disclosed for the first time. And Ouga, it concerns you greatly.”
“Me…?”
The King nodded with a pleasant smile.
“I’ve heard about your exploits in the Andraus incident. Quite the accomplishment, I must say.”
“…No, it was not solely my own power, but with the cooperation of Father and Reina that we succeeded. And tracing it back, I was merely acting on personal motivations.”
“But the result is that you’ve chipped away at Flone’s foundation. As a nation, as the King, I cannot simply leave it at that. So there is one thing I would like to confer upon you.”
…Wait, wait a minute. I have a bad feeling about this.
If the reason for the surprise was that they didn’t want me to know, then…?
…There’s one possibility that comes to mind.
No way, could that actually be happening? The King himself coming to our estate…? That’s unthinkable!
But alas, my wish was dashed mercilessly.
“Ouga-Vellet. Considering your performance, it has been officially decided that the title of [Saint] shall be bestowed upon you!”
Noooooooooooooooooo!!!
I grimaced, inwardly screaming in anguish.
“Then I shall call on you later, Ouga-sama.”
“…Ah. …Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to read the letter.”
“…! Thank you very much.”
I bowed and left the room, walking the hallway.
Ouga-sama, who had just come out of Gordon-sama’s room, looked listless and dejected.
I couldn’t help but comply when he pleaded [to be left alone for a little while].
Even so, he was still trying to keep the promise we had exchanged. Ouga-sama is truly kind, and I feel blessed to be able to serve such a person.
…No, “blessed” is hardly the right word. After all, I had tried to kill my own master as a result of my own actions.
Normally, I should have been ordered to take my own life. But here I am, still able to live each day as Ouga-sama’s sword.
“…Upon calm reflection, perhaps the things I wrote were foolish…”
No, but… I swore an eternal oath to be Ouga-sama’s sword, and he has forgiven me.
Even when I tried to take on more of the chores as a replacement for my lost arm, he said [Don’t worry about atoning, it’s fine]. I pushed through with that because I wanted to stay by his side, in addition to the atonement.
In any case, Ouga-sama no longer thinks about that day. So, it should be alright…
Ugh… I never imagined a day would come when I would be so distressed by anything other than the sword…!
“… I wonder what kind of expression Ouga-sama has as they read the letter right now.”
The moment I regained my consciousness was undoubtedly when I was under the [Brainwashing] of that Andraus, and Ouga-sama rescued me.
I had been trapped in a dark, cold watery abyss.
A lonely hell where no one’s voice could reach me.
Then a warm ray of light flowed in.
That light, which dispelled the darkness restraining me and guided me to the surface, was Ouga-sama’s.
When I desperately called out Ouga-sama’s name underwater and was able to voice my will clearly, and felt the warmth of the one who embraced me…
I knew I could never return to my former self.
To wield the sword for Ouga-sama.
That oath’s content hasn’t changed since the day we met.
… But the reason I swore it has changed, just a little.
Because I’ve come to know a new feeling, one I thought was foreign to me.
“Alice!?”
The sound of the door being forcefully flung open echoes.
Turning around, I see Ouga-sama, holding the letter I wrote, standing in the hallway.
I’m glad he read it so promptly.
“W-what is the meaning of this…!?”
Even the composed Ouga-sama cannot hide his surprise as he gaze at me.
his ears seem uncharacteristically reddened.
… If he read it with that awareness, I cannot be more delighted.
“Yes. As written, it is my feelings, and a question.”
The final line I penned this time is this:
— [I love you from the bottom of my heart. Will you also make me your wife, Ouga-sama?]
The End

Afterword
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, boobs!! (I won’t stop until scolded)
Readers, I’ve missed you. It’s been a while, Kinome here.
Well, this time the main focus was on the ultimate maid, Alice. How was it, I wonder? I was able to write about episodes from her past that hadn’t been delved into deeply before, and perhaps you got a different impression of her than before.
Among those, the most shocking revelation was probably… that she had been concealing the true size of her breasts with bandages all this time.
Big breasts do get in the way when swinging a sword, you see.
In some circles, there’s a theory that utilizing the centrifugal force on the breasts when swinging a sword can increase the attack power, but unfortunately, I don’t have breasts of my own to test that.
If any readers have conducted such experiments, please contact me via DM on social media – I’ll be overjoyed and wait eagerly for your report.
Well, enough boob talk, as there’s not much left. Time for acknowledgements.
To editor T-san,
I caused you great trouble again this time!
I’m truly sorry! I’ll do my best to meet the deadline without extensions for the next volume…! Please continue to work with me going forward.
To illustrator Heligauru-san,
Your art is mind-blowingly beautiful! Especially Alice’s melancholic expression on the cover… it’s a masterpiece! With each volume, the number of “best girl” illustrations keeps increasing, much to my dismay (laughs).
To the proofreaders, designers, printing company staff – various people have lent a hand in bringing this work to fruition. Thank you.
And to the readers. Thanks to you, we were able to conduct a campaign on social media for the second volume. And we even achieved the goal of a reprint – I’m truly grateful beyond words.
The comic version of this work’s first volume will also be released this month, beautifully adapted by Sengami-sensei. I hope you’ll pick that up as well.
I look forward to meeting you all again in the fourth volume.
Well then, I’ll conclude here.
Kinome
