I’m a D-Rank Adventurer Volume 3 Epilogue

Epilogue: The way back home

After a spectacular landing from the clock tower, we made our way back home.

Rafine and I walked side by side down the slightly darkened street on our way back to the stable.

Thanks to Rafine’s constant chatter, our conversation never stopped. Though really I just nodded along as Rafine talked cheerfully.

“Welcome back, did you have fun?”

When we arrived at the stable, Eve was sitting on the hay casually reading a book, as if she hadn’t come with us.

“Yes! It was so much fun! Wasn’t it, Master Jirei?”

“Oh…yeah, I guess so.”

I looked away awkwardly as she stared at me, somehow feeling shy.

Seeing us like that, Eve closed her book with a thud and said, “….Did something happen?” while looking at us suspiciously.

“W-w-w-what are you talking about, nothing happened!”

“….Liar, something definitely happened. Strange.”

“N-no way–“

“Tell me.”

Eve came closer with strong pressure.

In the end, Rafine’s terrible hiding skills caused us to spill everything after Eve’s interrogation.

After hearing the whole story, Eve shook her body slightly and said

“Unfair~”

while puffing out her cheeks as far as they would go.

“Unfair, unfair, unfair. Unfair, unfair, unfair, unfair, unfair–“

“Uh, actually, I was going to tell Eve afterwards…”

A panicked Rafine. Eve sat in the corner, squatting like a sulky child.

After that, Eve didn’t cheer up even after we tried to comfort her, and she half-forced me to promise to “fight like her too” like I did with Rafine.

Had I made a promise I couldn’t take back? This thought came to me a little while after I had calmed down.

“–Oh right, where’s Leti? Did she go out?”

Noticing that Leti wasn’t there, I asked and got this answer.

She was called out. Well, she’s a hero, so she’s probably busy with all kinds of things. Would definitely not want to be one.

“–…!–Jireiyy!”

And it looks like she just came back. I turned around.

“You’re backkk!?”

A direct hit to my stomach. I go flying.

“Here! This is for you, Jirei!”

“Ow…hey, what is this?”

I try to protest, but stop when I see the seal on the envelope Leti is holding.

This is…from the Church of Heroes? Why me?

What is this? I look at Leti, but she just keeps smiling without explaining.

“…? Should I open it?”

I don’t really understand, but I open the seal and take out the letter.

Skimming through it–

~Summoning Notice from the Church of Heroes

3rd Ranked Hero of Talent, Lucas Forte Edelph

5th Rank Hero of Attack, Letinoa Innocent

9th Ranked Hero of Sorcery, Kaus Entma

12th Rank Hero of Fortune, Norman

It contained a summons for the heroes.

It asked Leti, Lucas, and two other heroes to come to Librehero to fulfill a request.

But that’s not what caught my eye.

On this hero summoning letter–

D-Rank Adventurer, Jirei Laro

“………..Huh?”

–For some reason, I was included.
