Female Soldier Infiltration Volume 2 Chapter 3 part 1

3 Long Break

The long-awaited long break has arrived for most students.

Folia wakes up earlier than usual, meticulously brushes her hair, then frets over what to wear, her expression changing frequently.

Thinking she’s cute, Raze gets out of bed and bids her farewell for a short rest.

When she returns home today, she plans to go straight to her office and start working from assessing the current situation.

(Oh… I hope I haven’t messed anything up…)

Although she feels a slight unease about her subordinates, Raze believes they wouldn’t do anything foolish. She gets ready to return home.

“Folia, let me do your makeup. And your hair too.”

Seeing Folia fussing in front of the mirror, Raze calls her over.

“P-Please.”

Even the embarrassed angel is cute! Raze finishes up Folia.

“Next time we come to school, it’ll be the tournament, huh?”

“Yeah.”

Raze nods through the mirror.

Among the tournaments held twice a year to master practical skills, the summer tournament, the Battle Festa, is held for all students. After the break, with a preparation period in between, the tournament will start immediately.

“Hey! I came up with a magic spell that can defeat opponents!”

“Wow, Folia, that’s amazing. Lord Mordir will surely be surprised.”

“I hope so.”

“You’ll be fine, I’m sure.”

Raze encourages Folia.

“What about you, Raze-chan?”

“Huh?”

Raze tilts her head at Folia’s question.

“Who do you want to come to your Battle Festa?”

To the unexpected question, Raze couldn’t immediately answer.

To enter the academy, all you have to do is give invitations to family members and relatives. But Raze’s family is all dead, and while Harrens has taken on the role of guardian, she is actually independent.

It would be unfair to have her subordinates arrange it, and above all, they would probably want to rest if they had the time.

Unable to answer for a while, Folia looks startled, and she answers awkwardly.

“Oh, yeah? But everyone’s busy. It might be difficult for them to come.”

“I-I see.”

“Yeah.”

After that, they remained silent for a while, but Folia spoke up.

“Raze-chan, I’ll buy lots of souvenirs.”

“Really? I’m looking forward to it. Oh, if you do, I’d be happy if there were sweets…”

“Got it! Look forward to it!”

“Yeah… Alright, I’m done.”

With her hair set, Folia looks even cuter in the mirror, reflecting her image five times over.

She wants Folia to grab Lord Mordir’s heart firmly for both her and Carne.

At the end-of-term ceremony, all the students gathered in the hall with their luggage in casual clothes.

As soon as the ceremony ends, they were to be teleported to the same place as they came from.

While it might feel a bit cumbersome to have to do everything herself now, like cooking, it’s only a little while longer until she can come back to the academy. Three weeks will fly by.

After listening to the chairman’s speech in the hall, it was time to go home.

With Carne with Wendy and the others, Folia waits for the teleportation with Raze.

“See you, Raze-chan.”

“Yeah. Take care!”

Wrapped in the light of activation, the two waved their hands.

When the light enveloped them and she closed her eyes, the next thing she saw was a dark room.

“…I’m home.”

As her eyes gradually adjusted to the dark room, she greeted her home, where she had returned after a long time.

The smell of the room, which had been closed for a few days, made her realize that she had returned to her usual life.

She should be used to not getting a reply, but when she remembers the dorm she was just in with Folia, she feels a little lonely.

“Well then. Shall we get ready?”

Raze opens the curtains, letting light into the room, and ventilates it while unpacking.

Even though she didn’t have much luggage when she went to the academy, she brought back even less luggage, so she quickly finished organizing.

Changing her clothes, tying her hair simply, she prepared for work.

If she could finish her work as quickly as possible, she might be able to go see how Folia and the others are doing.

Immediately after returning home, Raze returned to being a soldier.

“I’m off.”

Unlike the ones provided at the academy, she carries a worn-out square bag for work.

When she arrives, Cross, buried under a mountain of documents, looks up.

“Good morning, Captain.”

“G-Good morning! Representative!”

Cross’s face lit up, then he scratched his head as he looked at the pile of documents.

Upon returning after four months, the military was still the same as ever.

“Nothing happened while I was away, did it?”

“…Yes. Somehow. There were more injured than usual on the expedition, but no casualties.”

“Yeah. That’s good. You’re doing a great job as captain.”

Raze puts her luggage on her seat and immediately reads through the reports.

“Huh? It seems you’ve been sent on quite an expedition? As a commander, it’s important to look at the condition of your unit and refuse if it seems impossible, you know?”

Cross responds with a “Yes” as Raze flips through the documents, but couldn’t bring himself to say he was sent to take care of trouble because of his rampage during the joint training.

“Well then, I’ll go report to headquarters.”

“Understood.”

After roughly understanding what to do next, Raze heads to the staff headquarters.

“This is Lieutenant Commander Raze Shesh Orphan from the Annihilation Division.”

“Come in.”

Upon entering, She’s greeted by the elegant Grim reaper, Coun Wellrain Larg Zarth, who sets down her pen on the desk piled with documents and raises her distinct silver eyes.

“It’s been a while. I’ve heard from Harrens. Sending you was indeed the right choice.”

(As expected, the real one exudes dangerous charm…)

Raze almost gets caught up in the allure of seeing Wellrain after a long time, but quickly empties their mind.

“It was helpful for you to look after my son too. He’s not very obedient, you see. Perhaps he’s reluctant to compete with His Highness, or maybe he insists on joining the Knights even though he can’t do much because I said I’d acknowledge him if he achieved anything in the schoo;.”

“He seems to be a very talented young man. I believe he’ll have no trouble joining the Knights now.”

Hoping for no longer seeing the scary face , Raze definitely wants him to join the Knights.

While hiding her true intentions, she praises Addis.

“Haha. You don’t have to worry about that. I know he’s being beaten up during special swordsmanship training. Please continue to keep him from becoming too conceited by breaking his nose if necessary.”

It’s questionable for parents to talk with a smile about their son being beaten up.

Perhaps Addis is also struggling unexpectedly.

“Now then. Enough small talk. What about the rest?”

Raze straightens up at Wellrain’s change in tone.

“Uh, I’ll report. Regarding the poison mixed in Miss Morthens’s pastries, although the manufacturing process is difficult, it’s possible to make it with items in the academy and advanced magic. There were no suspicious changes in stock at the shopping district or infirmary, but when I checked the lending history of books containing the method at the library, I found that a book containing exactly that method had been lent out to an unknown person. It’s certain that someone related to the academy is the culprit, but they haven’t been identified yet.”

“I see.”

“With Chairman Virein’s permission, we decided to set traps within the academy. At the same time, I’ve secretly applied my magic to those students who may have ingested poison this time so I can rush to them at any time.”

“…You work fast.”

Even without doing that—no, it’s difficult to strengthen security to that level casually, yet Raze easily says it. Wellrain can’t help but let out a sigh of admiration. Raze is exceeding the amount of work one person should do alone.

“No. It’s my duty to identify the culprit as soon as possible and prevent the students from feeling anxious. During this long break, I plan to reexamine information about the teachers, janitors, cooks, and residents of the shopping district.”

Acknowledging the excellent subordinate who doesn’t cut corners and thinks about the future, she nods.

“Understood. At the same time, discuss security for Harrens and the Battle Festa. Also, Raze Shesh Orphan, you’re authorized to explore the uncharted Zone XV in Baluda. Investigate it when you have time.”

“Yes.”

With too much to do, it feels like her head is already spinning.

How much can she accomplish in just over two weeks of vacation?

Wellrain stands up and stands beside the desk,

Raze looks at him, thinking he’s a picture no matter what he does.
