Special Bonus SS: Luna María
On that day, Luna María, summoned to Sora’s room, was suddenly presented with two magical stones. She blinked in surprise a couple of times
Luna Maria, upon realizing that they were magical stones, not ordinary gems. From what she could see, they possessed considerable magical power. For mages, they were highly desirable objects that would cost a significant amount of gold coins to obtain.
“Um, Master, what are these for?” Luna María asked, confused. Given her understanding of her position, she never considered these two magical stones as “a gift for her.”
—Although she couldn’t deny the fleeting expectation that maybe they were.
The fact that Sora had given clothes to Suzume and Seal earlier in the royal capital had influenced Luna María’s thinking to some extent.
But the situation between them and Luna María was very different. Sora would certainly not show Luna María the same kindness he had shown those two.
As if to confirm this thought, a name other than Luna María’s slipped out of Sora’s mouth.
“Give them to Salamander and Undine, who always take care of the bath. I think the spirits like magic stones, don’t they?”
“Y-Yes. They are mana clusters, so the spirits do like magic stones. However, I think they would be fine without something like this…”
There were different levels of magic stones. What Sora handed over were definitely higher quality stones – high quality stones. Sora shrugged at Luna María’s perplexed expression.
“Think of it as compensation for everything so far and as compensation for the future. Since the spirits seem to hate me, I want you to give this to them.”
“Y-Yes, I understand. I’m sure they’ll be happy.”
“…..I want to confirm this just in case, but are the spirits bothered by a not-so-important task like taking care of the bath?”
“I wouldn’t say they’re bothered, but Salamander has a bad temper. Fire spirits are often quite unruly. In this case it would be necessary to make them perform a real ‘burning’ act”.

The calm Undine, on the other hand, is in a good mood, as she prefers purifying bathwater to fighting.
Nevertheless, Luna María bowed to Sora on behalf of the spirits.
“In any case, I believe that both Salamander and Undine will be happy with the Master’s gift. Thank you in the name of the spirits.”
Luna María thought she should take the stones to the spirits immediately, but it was difficult to summon them near Sora. The mythical species within Sora was something terrifying to the spirits.
So Luna María bowed to Sora and tried to leave the room.
But Sora stopped her.
“Wait, wait, I’m not finished yet.”
“Ah, I’m so sorry.”
In fact, she hadn’t been given permission to leave. Luna María hurried back to Sora.
A third magic stone was placed in front of Luna María. Unlike the previous two, this one was in the form of a bracelet.
The part of the bracelet was made of wood, not metal. It was also made of naturally dried wood, not a living tree, Luna María noticed. So was the ring she wore on her forehead.
Luna María had a hunch, so she asked a little more hastily than usual.
“Um, master, what is this…?”
“This is a magic stone for you. I made you go through a lot of exaggerated things in the royal capital, so consider it an apology.”
“T-Thank you very much. But, Master, I’m a slave, so there’s no need to apologise.”
“You are no longer my slave, do you understand?”
“B-But I was still a slave back then, so I can’t accept something so expensive…”
“Hm, in that case, it will be the next best thing, a silk outfit cut more boldly than the last one I had prepared—”
“I’ll gladly accept it, Master!”
Before Sora could finish his sentence, Luna María quickly grabbed the wooden bracelet. Then, as she brought it carefully to her chest, she stared at it intently.
Upon closer inspection, she noticed intricate designs engraved on the wooden part. It seemed to have originated from an “oak,” known as a sacred tree. Even without the magical stone, it was a finely crafted piece.
While holding the bracelet tightly so it wouldn’t slip, Luna María bowed deeply.
“Thank you so much. I will treasure it dearly.”
After expressing her gratitude word by word, Luna María looked at Sora with enthusiasm and asked,
“Um, Master. Would it be alright if I put it on now?”
