Strongest in the Supernatural School Volume 2 chapter 2 part 1

Chapter 2 – The Ruler of Class 1-B

“Hey, Amamori, isn’t Asahina becoming useless?”

One day, Kurashiki voiced her discontent. It was after school on a Wednesday.

The feast… Saturday nights are the usual time for the Sabbath.

But Saturday is a holiday. Working on a holiday is the height of foolishness.

So, on Wednesdays, I slips away from the Literature Club and shows up for this gathering.

…Though, the members are still only three.

“Asahina?”

“Yeah, lately she’s been so obsessed with chasing you that she can’t see anything else. Maybe we should just catch her already?”

I see… Miss Asahina, so you’re still stalking, huh.

I’ve never been caught by her even once.

“But still, Amamori-san is amazing! Was it your eye-worsening ability? How can you use that to shake off Asahina-san?”

“You still believe in that nonsense power? Of course it’s a lie, a lie. You, whenever you’re involved with Amamori, you immediately become an idiot.”

I agree with that. Fundamentally, Kurotsuki is a genius, but he never doubts my words.

That’s why he occasionally becomes an idiot.

However, tilting his head, he opened his mouth with a puzzled look.

“But if we just do as Amamori-san says, we’ll end up winning in the end, right? So isn’t it silly to have to think when Amamori-san is involved?”

“…Well, if that’s how it is, then it’s fine.”

Kurashiki looked at me as he said that. I averted my gaze.

Whoa, the expectations are heavy. Why am I trusted so much? Have I done something?

Ah, that’s right. I fought with Netsuhara. Recently, Hoshina’s impact has been so strong that I’d completely forgotten about Netsuhara. I wonder if he’s okay, he’s probably been brainwashed.

“For now, I have an idea regarding Asahina. …I think it’s time we showed her the reality of the situation.”

The problem is, how do we show her the reality?

Should we find some random student and re-enact a bullying scenario with me as the target?

Targeting me for the bullying would be fine, but… if we’re not careful, we might end up dragging in top-tier students like Sakuma or Karasuma. Well, I’m confident I can fool them, but still.

“You two just need to act as the [good students] as the situation demands. …You shouldn’t have any trouble with that, right?”

“Tch, the expectations are heavy. My shoulders are going to get stiff.”

Relax, Kurashiki. I don’t ask you to do things I think you can’t do.

You guys can probably do it, right?

Then, do it. That’s all I want from you.

“And Kurotsuki. You should also work on getting closer to Asahina. Kurashiki has already reached the level of a best friend, but you’re still just a classmate. Use any means necessary. Even if it means using me as a stepping stone, it’s fine.”

“Yes! Then, I’ll help with Amamori-san’s stalking next time as well!”

Ugh, you’re joining in too? What a mess.

Can the combination of my transformation ability can really shake off Asahina and Kurotsuki?

I’m a little worried, but let’s just give it a try.

If it’s impossible, I’ll just honestly give up. That’s the best thing to do.

Concluding that, I stood up from the chair.

Outside, it’s twilight, time to go home.

“Then, let’s disband. Don’t make any detours on your way home, you two.”

“Okay! See you tomorrow, Amamori-kun!”

“Let’s meet again tomorrow. Amamori, Kurashiki.”

The two, who had perfectly donned their [public faces], left the classroom separately.

I also let out a deep breath and left the classroom, giving the two some time.

“Today, there will be a joint special ability training session for all first-year classes.”

That was the next day. Sakaki-sensei’s words brought a huge impact to Class C.

A joint training for the first-years… Okay, but wait, did this person just say [today]? I was thinking it was a joke, when Nishikimachi spoke up.

“Huh!? Hey, wait a minute, Sakaki-sensei! If it’s a joint training, does that mean Class A is involved too!?”

At his words, the faces of the classmates darkened.

While the influence of Netsuhara on Class A has mostly returned to normal, the past cannot be changed. The fear from him still lingers heavily.

That’s why Nishikimachi’s statement. In response, Sakaki-sensei shook his head in exasperation.

“Ah, that would have been the case normally… but who knows what they’re thinking. According to the Class A homeroom teacher, [all students in Class A are absent due to poor health]. Therefore, today’s training will be conducted only with Class C and Class B.”

“Th-That means–!”

It’s undoubtedly his doing.

Incidentally, when reading “that peson”, I’m not referring to Netsuhara.

It’s “Tachibana” – read as “Yatsu”.

What a bold move, getting even the teacher on her side.

If it were me, I wouldn’t even think of trying to recruit Sakaki-sensei as an ally.

“It’s clear now… Class A, including their homeroom teacher, seem to have been ensnared by [that person]. Truly, this year’s Class A has the worst mix of students on record.”

It seems Ms. Sakaki has noticed Tachibana’s existence.

After thinking about it a bit, I realized it doesn’t really matter much whether she knows or not. I just need to focus on doing what I need to do.

“The worst student…is that so?”

“Yes. Asahina, you need to be careful. If you want to continue reigning as the champion of justice…then your greatest enemy will likely be Class A.”

However, she did not say that the school itself was the greatest enemy.

I ponder the meaning behind her words, letting out a small groan internally.

Is she really valuing Class A that much? Or maybe Asahina is not the enemy of the school. Either way, it feels a bit chilling. There’s no doubt it’s in a bad sense.

“And so, everyone. While Class A is absent, take this time to grow stronger. Change into your gym uniforms and gather in the gymnasium. Don’t be late.”

And with that, she wrapped up the discussion.

Once she had left, the classroom erupted into a buzz of commotion.

“…Looks like it’s not going to end just with that, huh. Amamori, you might be up again soon.”

“…Karasuma.”

The one who casually spoke to me was Karasuma, the person sitting in front of me.

“Aside from Asahina-san and Kurotsuki, I don’t think there’s anyone else who can match up to them.”

“Sorry, but I don’t want to fight anymore. I don’t like the pain.”

You should be the one to fight, since you-

I started to say more, but stopped.

Somehow, it didn’t feel like the right thing to say at the moment.

I kept my conversation with Karasuma fairly brief after that.

We headed to the changing room, changed into our gym uniforms, and made our way to the gymnasium.

The gymnasium…it had been a while since I’d been here, since the entrance ceremony.

The students of Class B had already arrived, and I could see Hoshina-san among them.

Yay, Hoshina-san! She seemed to be looking around a bit, but didn’t seem to spot me. She was happily waving with the others from Class B. How frustrating.

(Amamori-san, Amamori-san. Is there anyone dangerous in Class B?)

Kurotsuki’s telepathic message suddenly came through. Well, I don’t really know much about Class B,

so I can’t say for sure, but there’s probably someone there.

The four of us who escaped punishment on the first day are likely me, Asahina, and Tachibana from Class A.

And the last one, I think, isn’t from Class A or Class C.

After all, this is a school that allows class-on-class conflict.

There has to be at least one “dangerous” person in each class,

or the balance would be off. I don’t think the school would do that unfairly.

They must have divided the students based on some criteria, trying to maintain a certain balance.

In Class C, we have Asahina, Kurashiki Hotaru, and kanade Kurotsuki.

In Class A, the individual comparable to those three is Tachibana Tsukihime.

So what about Class B? Hoshina-san, maybe? Her mentioned abilities did seem quite useful, so it’s possible, but I don’t think she alone would be on par with Class C.

There must be at least one more student in Class B that we should be wary of.

Having reached that conclusion, I simply shrugged it off when asked.

(Who knows. I’ve never really thought about Class B, but keep your eyes open, Kurotsuki. There’s bound to be something unusual about this school.)

(Understood!)

I heard the enthusiastic response, and Kurotsuki’s gaze seemed to sharpen a bit.

I averted my eyes from Kurotsuki and turned my attention back to Class B.
