Misunderstood Saintly Life Volume 3 chapter 1 part 3

Wanting some clue to judge the situation, I continue to observe Alice’s expression – but I fail to notice the presence of my jealous classmate approaching from behind.

“Ouga-kun? Are you so captivated by Alice-san that you’re ignoring us~?”

“My apologies, Mashiro. So, can you please let go of me? My neck is starting to bend in a direction it shouldn’t…”

Mashiro grabs my cheeks and tries to turn my head towards her.

That’s odd. Mashiro, with her exceptional magical talent, should be quite weak, yet my neck, trained as it is, can’t resist her.

“Well then, can you tell us what request we asked you earlier?”

“Haha, is that all? I got it right away.”

“Hmm, then please tell me.”

“…You wanted me to prepare some truly outstanding sweets, right?”

“Boo-boo, wrong!”

Farewell, my utopia.

Do your best in the next life.

Bearing the world’s most cheerful death sentence, I force a smile and await my demise.

“Like this, Ouga-kun…” she makes a sudden move

The world went dark for an instant.

However, I did not lose consciousness and black out.

This is the most wonderfully fluffy marshmallow-like sensation, with the sweet fragrance unique to a woman. Based on this, I’ve deduced the answer.

I’m now in my ideal utopia!

I’ll never let go of this again!

“It’s no good, you know? Just because Alice-san is pretty, you can’t ignore us.”

“That’s right, Ouga. You have to make sure to cherish everyone.”

“If you abandon us, we’ll hold a grudge for generations to come, you know?”

“As if I’d do that. I’m a greedy man, so I won’t let go of anything I want, no matter who it is.”

“Mm-hmm, we know. …That’s why we can follow you with peace of mind, Ouga-kun.”

Gently stroking my head, Mashiro murmurs in a soothing voice.

They say a woman’s bosom is a symbol of motherly love… I see. This is indeed comforting.

In this life… no, including my previous life, maybe baby play wouldn’t be a bad idea when it comes to losing my virginity.

I heard it was a trend among exhausted adults in my previous world, this phenomenon called “maternal affection.”

I feel like I’ve gained a bit of understanding of that sentiment.

However, I can’t stay like this forever.

I am Ouga Vellet, the eldest son of the Four Great Ducal Houses.

I need to maintain a certain level of decorum. While it might be acceptable at night, I can’t succumb to the gravitational pull of a bosom in broad daylight.

Silently shedding tears of blood, I gently extract myself from Mashiro.

The time is not now. Don’t forget we’re on an extended vacation…!

“The preparations for moving have also been made. Let’s listen to the conversation I missed while traveling by carriage.”

“I see, so the three of you made those requests. They’re easily doable.”

After hearing the summary of their discussion, I give my response.

Incidentally, Mashiro, who has once again gotten motion sickness, is lying on my lap.

Since Alice is outside holding the reins, my trained thighs are the only ones capable of enduring this prolonged lap pillow.

Unfortunately, we can’t enjoy a comfortable journey like on a magical ship.

After all, nobles are accustomed to the jolting of the carriages they use for daily travel, so there’s no need for such amenities.

…Let’s get back to the matter at hand.

The three of them asked for the creation of happy memories.

I wholeheartedly agree with that.

Especially after the recent incident, there have been far too many bloody events.

To erase those, creating joyful memories would be a wise decision.

To be honest, I had been thinking the same thing.

This unexpected long vacation.

If there’s something to do, there’ll be less time to get lost in thought, but with idle time, I tend to dwell on things even more.

Mashiro has experienced the terrifying horror of a real fight for life.

Reina has her past with Flone to contend with.

Both of them try not to show it outwardly, but… they have kind hearts.

They must be concealing it, so as not to be noticed by me.

In that case, I want to overwrite those memories with wonderful new ones, to the point of forgetting.

As I gently stroke Mashiro’s silky hair, she squirms a bit, seemingly ticklish.

Maybe the busyness up until now wasn’t all bad.

“Let’s make the arrangements as soon as possible. I have a meeting with Father today, so I’ll bring it up then.”

It seems my family-oriented father is unusually staying at the mansion today.

Given his nature, he’s most likely adjusted his schedule to accommodate me.

Reina and I have a planned three-way discussion with him.

The sole topic for this trio, of course, is only one thing:

Flone the lightning strike

“Oh, I haven’t seen Uncle Gordon in a while. And Celishia-chan too!”

“Sorry, but Celishia isn’t here. She’s currently studying abroad in the Carmabein Empire.”

“Ah, that’s right, I remember now…”

Karen, shoulders slumped in disappointment, was hoping to see my little sister, Celishia Vellet.

Unlike me, who is advancing towards villainy, my sister Celishia is the embodiment of propriety, beauty, and mastery of both martial and magical arts – a beloved paragon admired by all.

This darling sister of mine is currently studying abroad at the magic academy of the neighboring Carmabein Empire, along with our mother, for the purpose of social education.

Even though Celishia has endured much hardship due to my condition, she still dotes on me, so I also feel saddened that I cannot see her.

However, no matter how much I long for her, the distance is not one that allows her to easily return, so I have only been able to send her letters.

The events after the entrance to the school. About Mashiro. Karen became my fiancée again. I had a new “sister”, Reina. All in all, it’s been a very colorful few months.

“I’m also eager to greet her. After all, she’s now my adopted sister.”

“I’m sure Reina will get along with her right away. She’s a real angel without a hint of pretense.”

“Oh, that sounds like it will be very enjoyable. I would be delighted if she, like Ouga, also come to appreciate the tea I brew.”

“Of course. Celishia and I have very similar tastes.”

She has truly always been by my side, such a darling little sister.

She insists on eating the same things I do and learning the same things I learn.

So if asked who I’ve spent the most time with in my family, there’s no doubt it would be Celishia.

On stormy nights, she would even crawl into my bed, saying she was scared.

…Ah, but I mustn’t go on too long boasting about my dear sister.

“That’s right, we still have quite a ways to go to reach the Vellet estate. Would you be willing to tell me more about Celishia?”

“I’m quite curious about her as well. I haven’t had much chance to talk with her at parties, so I’d love to learn more.”

“I’d also like to be accepted into the family as soon as possible.”

“Alright then, let me tell you about some of Celishia’s adorable quirks-“

There’s no need for me to hold back when asked.

I begin recounting the choicest anecdotes about my darling little sister.

And so, for a time, we kept the conversation going by sharing stories about Celishia.

“Mashiro, wake up. We’ve arrived.”

I poke Mashiro’s cheek, which was sleeping comfortably, with my finger.

Her cheeks are pleasantly plump and squishy.

“Mmh, five more minutes…”

“That’s something you’d say in the morning, not at night. It’s already dark outside.”

“Eh?! Am I late?! Oww!”

Mashiro bolts upright in a panic, smacking his head on the ceiling.

The dull thud is followed by a brief moment of silence, then erupts into laughter.

“Hehe, Mashiro. No need to be in such a rush, there’s no class today.”

“You must have been sleeping like the dead to have forgotten this morning’s events.”

“Eh? Why are the two of you in the same carriage? Ouga…what’s going on?”

“It’s like this, my sleeping beauty.”

I tug Mashiro by the hand, leading her out of the carriage.

“Eh? The manor… Ah, I see now!”

As we disembark, Mashiro seems to recall what’s happening.

“It’s been a while since I’ve come here, to Ouga’s home.”

Gazing contemplatively at the sprawling white manor before us is Karen.

This stately building, built in the traditional style since the founding of the country,

is the ancestral home of the Vellet family – my family – who wield great influence in the political world as the king’s right-hand.

“It’s even more impressive than I imagined…”

“Well, no use just standing here. Let’s go inside.”

“Y-yeah, you’re right…”

As I say this, Alice promptly comes and opens the door.

The sight that greets us on the other side causes Mashiro to freeze up again.

The grand chandelier hanging from the ceiling,

the portraits of past Vellet family heads lining the walls,

the sweeping dual staircases in the center,

the red carpet leading from the entrance to the stairs –

And lined up to either side, the maids and butlers.

“Welcome back, young master Ouga, and Lady Reina. We’ve been expecting you.”

Their greetings, delivered in perfect unison with a formal bow, never fail to impress,

for they take great pride in serving the Vellet household.

“Thank you for the welcome. It’s been a while.”
