XIX Nicol’s Marriage
My base in Cadonia was the mansion of a Cadonia nobleman who had escaped during the Stampede.
Since that nobleman was attacked by monsters on his escape and died, there was no worry about him coming back saying “Please return it.” It was said to be one of the largest buildings even in Cadonia, and the interior decoration was also magnificent. It was very different from the Faloon royal castle rebuilt from a fortress.
If I had to point out a weak point, it would probably be that artistic chairs get broken when I sit on them because I’m wearing a 5x gravity bracelet.
I cut off thick logs and used them as chairs instead since I had no choice.

Nicol, who was summoned from Faloon, arrived at the mansion. However,
“King Mars, thank you for giving Nicol such a good marriage partner!”
Lilia, who had come to Cadonia together with Nicol, knelt down and expressed her gratitude as soon as she met me.
Why did Nicol’s mother Lilia come with him even though I had summoned Nicol?

Amidst this disturbance, Nicol smiled gently at Georg.
Georg thought again that the guys from Faloon were strange, every single one.
“The talk is already concluded. Between my grandfather Gamaras and her grandfather, Duke Gordon. They were both very happy. Saying they were grateful to my brother, King Mars.”
“That’s absurd! There’s no way Duke Gordon would say such a…”
“Why do you think so? For Duke Gordon, having his granddaughter become the Queen of Cadonia works in his favor, does it not?”

What Nicol was saying was true. Although Princess Rubis suspected Mars to be behind this incident and was desperately trying to remove Faloon from Cadonia, it was not after consulting with Duke Gordon.

After sending out the ladies-in-waiting who were in the room, Rubis asked Nicol. The two of them sat on chairs facing each other across a table.
“I don’t have any demands. I just want us to work together to make Cadonia a better country.”
Nicol had a composed expression compared to the tense Rubis.
“Make it a better country… Cadonia was a good country before Faloon came.”
Rubis directed a stern gaze at Nicol.
“Is that so?”
Nicol lightly brushed off her gaze.
“If it was really a good country, even if my brother is an amazing king, the citizens would not have been easily swayed. In the first place, a truly good country would not provide a pretext for other countries to intervene. However, that was not the case. Cadonia was already showing cracks even before Faloon came over.”
“That’s…”
In her heart, Rubis also thought her country was in the wrong. However, that didn’t mean she could accept Faloon’s intervention.

However, after meeting Mars in person, Rubis also had the impression he was quite ordinary.
“That blood and corpses belong to the nobles. There is absolutely no harm done to the commoners. Was it not the same in Cadonia?”

Nicol said gently.
“Besides, I’m happy…”

“That my marriage partner turned out to be such a wise and lovely person.”
Nicol and Rubis’ wedding ceremony was held grandly.
The southern part of Cadonia welcomed it enthusiastically, as it meant coming under Faloon’s umbrella. The north was also gathered by Duke Gordon and they finally recognized this marriage based on the promise to acknowledge the privileges the nobles had until now.
As a result of this, Nicol became the new King of Cadonia, and Cadonia effectively became a subordinate state of Faloon. The south for the most part became the personal territory of the Cadonia King, and Nicol demonstrated his excellent abilities, promoting reforms.
After visiting Faloon for their honeymoon, Rubis also acknowledged Faloon’s leading qualities upon being exposed to its actual state. From then on, she worked on behalf of Cadonia supporting Nicol, and the two of them became a close couple.
And Mars said…
“Why did those two get married in the first place?”
